This is such a cool thread.
Has anyone gotten waivers from schools like CCN but still not anything from Cornell?

You bet. I got Columbia, NYU, Michigan, and UVA, yet no Cornell, Duke, or Georgetown.

I got Georgetown and Columbia but no Chicago, Michigan, NYU, Duke, Cornell ... I'm thinking Columbia opted to throw me a bone because I went to one of their grad schools. That's the only theory I can come up with.

Edit: not LGBT personalized, just mentioned a lot of international/study-abroad related stuff.

Though I won't be applying there, the targeted LGBT group letter and fee waiver was the most personal touch I've seen in the fee waiver process.iminlstrick wrote:Santa Clara via e-mail

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
I've been following this thread but haven't posted anything yet, hence the long post.
Notable Fee Waivers:
UM (with a handwritten note about their IP program, and "love" underlined), Duke (no PT), Cornell, NYU (hidden), Columbia (hidden), UCLA (no scholarship mentioned), UTexas, UVA, Notre Dame, Vandy (with stalker-status disclaimer), MSU (full-tuition scholarship mentioned)
No UChi or GULC.
Packet arrived today from Wisc, but no fee waiver?
LSAT in low 170's, GPA around 3.7
Hope this helps!
Also: Santa Clara tailored their Fee Waiver to IP/ Law and Tech, thought that was interesting.

I just got the LGBT email too- rather impressive. Still won't be applying there, though.Kretzy wrote:Though I won't be applying there, the targeted LGBT group letter and fee waiver was the most personal touch I've seen in the fee waiver process.iminlstrick wrote:Santa Clara via e-mail

Hmm, mine was about Public Interest, pretty cool of them to have a few different mass emails based off interest. Still not applying though, but it's not you, it's me, I'm an east coast guy and you're a west coast school.iminlstrick wrote:Santa Clara via e-mail

I got two, one that seemed pretty general and one that mentioned that it's Catholic (I went to a Jesuit school for UG)LSATfromNC wrote:Hmm, mine was about Public Interest, pretty cool of them to have a few different mass emails based off interest. Update re: Columbia fee waiver from last year.
I just got off the phone with an admissions officer and he told me that I shouldn't pay online, but instead indicate that I will pay directly to the school. After that, I should print off the waiver I got last year, mail it in, and I should be fine.

So last year, did you explicitly ask them for a waiver? Or was it granted to you automatically? I'm just wondering if its worth me emailing them for a fee waiver.Helmholtz wrote:Update re: Columbia fee waiver from last year.
