I did get one - unsolicited. Sorry bro - hope they do come through for yaAT9 wrote:Has anyone received a fee waiver from UMN? Unsolicited or solicited? I tried soliciting a waiver but they responded with:

Unfortunately we are unable to grant merit-based fee waivers to students who are not registered with CRS or who registered after taking the LSAT."
What? I don't even know if I registered prior to the LSAT or not. I mentioned the fact that I was an alum, but evidently thousands of dollars and several years at the school isn't enough to give back a little.

Thanks, I'm hoping so. I want to apply but it's hard to justify the extra $100 when almost every other school on my list has given me a waiver.mojangles wrote:I did get one - unsolicited. I got their fancy little view book yesterday, though.

I'd contact them if I were you just saying that you noticed that the fee waiver wasn't applied on LSAC. And maybe ask if there's another round of waivers or something?

I e-mailed UMich this weekend and just received a reply saying I had been granted a waiver. So yes, perhaps just e-mail again as a polite reminder.
Also just in, Cornell, Georgetown and Vandy.

Same exact thing happened to me. I emailed them a (polite) reminder towards the end of last week, and promptly received a fee waiver code in response.andapieceoftoast wrote:So I've already posted on this topic before - my apologies - but my circumstances have slightly changed.
I solicited from UMich in early August and received this response:
Thank you for your interest in Michigan Law. We offer merit-based fee waivers through LSAC's Candidate Referral Service. It does appear that you will qualify for a waiver. If you are registered for that service, it will appear automatically in your LSAC account. We will begin processing LSAC fee waivers later this month.
I'm really bummed bc I neither received an email nor a hidden waiver.
I'm wondering if it's worth contacting them again; I don't want to troll them. My GPA is 3.81 and LSAT 174 - do you think there is any reason why I shouldn't have received one?

Thank you to the previous 3 posters. I will send them a polite reminder in hopes of snagging that extra fee waiver -- every bit helps!
UPDATE: Got it - within 20 minutes! Thanks for the tip ladies and gents! Best of luck to everyone as we suffer through this together...

Anyone get fee waivers from CCN, UC Berkeley, or USC yet? Solicited or unsolicited.

UCLA, solicited, gave me a code to use 4 minutes after I sent them a request. Well done, UCLA.

I responded to an email USC sent me last year with a fee waiver in it, they said they're only going to give them out through CRS - and that they should be sent out sometime in September.Innovative wrote:Anyone get fee waivers from CCN, UC Berkeley, or USC yet? Solicited or unsolicited.

Berk doesn't give them out. I didn't receive a response from SC either. It's really weird how some admissions offices have a thirty minute turn around and others take days to get back to you.christobel wrote:I believe that Berkeley does not do merit waivers. Same here on USC, it's the only school I have yet to hear back from on the solicited waiver front.

I want to solicit fee waivers from schools but I'm retaking the LSAT in October. Should I wait until after the LSAT to try and ask or should I just ask now? I'm a splitter with an at/just-under median LSAT for some T-14s.
Thanks in advance

Another stupid question from me: Do HYS even do merit fee waivers? Is it worth soliciting?

Berkeley had a pilot fee-waiver program last year for "high achieving UC and CSU students".deputydog wrote:Berk doesn't give them out. I didn't receive a response from SC either. I didn't get one (unsolicited or solicited), but my friend (with lower GPA and LSAT) did (unsolicited).

UCLA as well, feels good since they did not send me a waiver on their last CRS adventure.
