Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
Yar. I found it when I got home. I couldn't see the info on their webpage anywhere and when I went to the "visiting columbia" page, it only talked about not going during their spring break.
Thanks guys.
Thanks guys.

GUYS!! I have an update for you that should cheer everyone up. I just looked at my admissions envelope and it was actually postmarked January 27th! This means there was definitely a third batch. Anyone who hasn't been accepted yet should feel a little bit better.
Good luck to all of you.

For some reason I thought he had something to do with Jamaica. Maybe I'm just going crazy. Never mind. Columbia, you have officially driven me crazy.pineapples wrote:I'm pretty sure he/she is in Boston.bahnerjulia wrote:Yeah but he was international.pineapples wrote:I just saw on the "Who did you hear from TODAY" thread that someone was accepted today with a postdate of 1/27...

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
From what I gather on this thread, seems like Columbia only sends the snail mail for acceptances.
Just wanted to confirm that they don't also call or e-mail like some other schools do? Thanks!
Also, for those who are already accepted, did your status on status checker change?

What does the "handbook" actually look like? I got a really ambivalent packet from them in the mail the other day that had a small pamphlet and a larger viewbook...but it said nothing of admitted...merely that they "appreciate [my] interest in [Columbia] and look forward to assisting [me] as plan [my] legal career." um...i may just be grasping at straws...

It says admitted students' handbook something like that, and there is a letter that reads something like
"congratulation again for getting into columbia blah blah blah"

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
If you're within USPS 1 to 2-day 1st class mail delivery range of Columbia, you get a letter addressed to you in a thin folder sent in a regular-mail envelope. The letter warns you of future mailings of various shapes and sizes. This is followed by a binder with a generic letter addressed to "Admitted Studet" - this is sent by priority mail and probably arrives the next day. Then, at some point you get an email telling you about some blog. The farther away you get from New York City, the more randomly ordered these 3 items can become, so some people end up getting the email or package before they get the actual letter.

I got my acceptance letter last Saturday, and still haven't received the Handbook...and I'm in South Jersey. Someone's Google-confirmed (?) explanation for the e-mail, which may have been sent in error: --LinkRemoved--KingJames wrote:Got an email about a blog for admitted students. Says, "Congrats again on your acceptance"...I guess this means I am in even though I have not gotten anything in the mail yet. Located in Ithaca, NY

I don't have that glitch (although there's an attachment that you can download if you don't have HTML email, and that one is a link to an image of a letter that says "Dear Admitted Student") - when I forward it, it looks the same. I tried my best to "break" it with my iPhone and text-only view on gmail & finally ended up forwarding it to an account where I could download and view the raw source... but it looks ok.rabbit9198 wrote:Someone's Google-confirmed (?) explanation for the e-mail, which may have been sent in error: --LinkRemoved--KingJames wrote:Got an email about a blog for admitted students. A west coast friend got acceptance letter with Hamilton yesterday (1/29). He went complete just after year end. Don't know date of letter.
