Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
No problem! Just to clarify, the letters did not come in envelopes. They were just laying there, unfolded, on top of the viewbookCosmiclove wrote:Thanks a lot-- I just got a viewbook with no envelopes, so I guess no waiver for me.so_fetch wrote:Assuming its the same for everyone else as for me...When you open the envelope there are two letters on top of the viewbook. The first one is talking about the fee waiver, and the second one was from Dean Z (& includes the personal note at the end).Cosmiclove wrote:My Michigan viewbook was sent to my permanent address instead of to my campus address. To those who got them, can you tell me whereabouts in the viewbook the waiver/note are so I can call home and see if I got them? Thanks!
Also, they don't give you a fee waiver number to use or something -- they tell you that when you go online to apply, the waiver should be in effect and you will not need to pay actual $. I forget which forum but somewhere on here in the past, people have talked about how to find "hidden" fee waivers. So you could theoretically check using that method if you are not sure what came in the envelope.
edit--- o yea I got Chicago too! Did not want to put two separate posts in row!

Has anyone received a response for a solicited fee waiver from WUSTL? I emailed them a few weeks ago and have not heard back.

I got one from UVA today. Most surprised with my GPA. I suppose I'll waste the $16 on the app after all.

DOUBLE FEE WAIVER ALL THE WAY ACROSS MY APPLICATION
Solicited and unsolicited from UVA. Maybe that means they'll pay me $80 when I send in the app.
edit: just got a call from my dad. MICHIGAN CAME TODAY! WOO-HOO!

3.5x, 17x, and I'm still upset with my lack of Chicago fee waiver
. I didn't get Cornell either, so guess I'm not applying there!
I did get Duke PT, UVA and Mich.

Just fyi for anyone trying to get one from Iowa... seems like you *have* to solicit one. They send you a short pdf that you fill out and either attach your LSAC transcript (LSAT over 164) or academic transcript (GPA over 3.80) to get it.
Also, I also got double UVA waivers... encouraging considering I'm still at zero Cornell/Mich ones : (

Ditto on MSU.
Also, an email from Case Western--no fee waiver, though. Hurts my ego. Oh well, on to UVA and Michigan we go.

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
So Cornell got back to me and basically just said "we hand them out through CRS" but did it in a way that makes me think it was a soft reject on the fee waiver.
Very bummed

Same. Cornell actually sent me two viewbooks but no fee waiver. That surprised me a little considering I'm above both of their medians. On the other hand, I got a fee waiver from UVA despite being below both medians, and fee waivers from Michigan and Chicago despite being below one. Oh well, it seems like there's no real rhyme or reason sometimes with the fee waivers. Hopefully they'll send out a second wave and I'll get one before sending in my app.So Cornell got back to me and basically just said "we hand them out through CRS" but did it in a way that makes me think it was a soft reject on the fee waiver.

I'm hoping they snag me in the next round of waivers, but I have a feeling it's a no go. It would have to happen fairly soon since I'm trying to get these apps out by the end of the month tooReal Madrid wrote: Same. Cornell actually sent me two viewbooks but no fee waiver. EDIT: Does anyone know if BC gives out fee waivers?
