Something is up with Pepperdine's stats. 153/150/162. 160 median maybe?

Yea but it states that medians are up. Overall seems good for them. How many lawyers does Louisiana need?

Seems like a larger chunk intend to practice in Louisiana. 40% doing the civil law track this year compared to only 18% in 2009.

I feel like this should be on cnn right now. Definitely more news worthy than most of the stuff they've got on.

Why was getting WUSTL medians such a big deal to everyone? Am I missing something?

Because WUSTLs TLS contigent for the C/O 2017 was massive, plus the stuff they did trying to defer scads of people.

A lot of speculation because WUSTL apparently had a huge increase in class size from last year, and administration offering increased scholarships for admitted class to defer until next year.

Also, Spivey has great connections there so he's likely to get inside info first.

It's also in the top 30 so is part of the median contest on TLS.

TLS also has a general fascination with WUSTL for some other reason (edit: what rebexness said), but the first two are the main reasons people were begging for WUSTL class profile info.

NDLS is up

LSAT: 160/163/165 - exact same as 2013

GPS: 3.44/3.64/3.78 - small bump in each from 2013

Class Size 200 - up from 162

All stats as of 2014 1L Orientation

Interesting that WUSTL has a 3 point higher lsat median than Notre Dame when they have virtually identical big law placement.

NDLS just dropped from 166->163. It seems they are now content on maintaining said 163 again this year.
As you can see, their ranking had dropped slightly from 23 -> 26 while WUSTL rose 19 -> 18. It takes a while for the hiring market to adjust in accordance with the school's rank and reputation, but it eventually will.

I don't think specific sub-rankings have much effect on hiring. Notre Dame an WUSTL are going to be looked at as peer schools regardless of a few ranking spots in US News.

100% agree. All I am saying is that rankings can cause a vicious cycle, and firms will eventually recognize this as time goes by. A few years down the line, if WUSTL is say #17 while ND falls to #34, hiring will be felt. WUSTL will be progressing towards Vandy numbers, while NDLS will be more like Illinois.

This won't happen. First of all, the rankings won't effect ND's employment in the slightest. ND has spent years developing relationships with law firms and has a pretty good reputation in the legal community. Firms aren't going to stop recruiting at Notre Dame simply because their median LSAT dropped a few points.

Furthermore, ND won't drop in the rankings because it consistently gets solid "reputation" ratings. The whole "vicious cycle" thing might be true for some schools, but it's not for ND for a variety of reasons.
