If you got Cornell and Michigan and I didn't, since we have fairly similar numbers, then mine have to be on the way...right?swoozie wrote:Noooo, no UChi for me.Sad!

(But if I don't get in I can just stay in my PhD program. If not I'd apply more widely.)

Presumably, this is a good thing (free = good). But I am cynical, and I think that they only reason that they are giving me these waivers is because Im right on the cusp number wise and they want me to apply so that they can reject my dumb ass (and thus increase their selectivity)!

And might I add that the Chicago waiver was especially exciting- my number one choice.

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Thanks a lot-- I just got a viewbook with no envelopes, so I guess no waiver for me.so_fetch wrote:Assuming its the same for everyone else as for me...When you open the envelope there are two letters on top of the viewbook. The first one is talking about the fee waiver, and the second one was from Dean Z (& includes the personal note at the end).Cosmiclove wrote:My Michigan viewbook was sent to my permanent address instead of to my campus address. To those who got them, can you tell me whereabouts in the viewbook the waiver/note are so I can call home and see if I got them? Thanks!
Also, they don't give you a fee waiver number to use or something -- they tell you that when you go online to apply, the waiver should be in effect and you will not need to pay actual $. I forget which forum but somewhere on here in the past, people have talked about how to find "hidden" fee waivers. So you could theoretically check using that method if you are not sure what came in the envelope.
edit--- o yea I got Chicago too! Did not want to put two separate posts in row!

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
I got everything but Cornell and now I have a theory why: I'm an undergrad there and told my prelaw advisor I wasn't really interesting in Applying To the Law School (pretty as it is). I wonder if she was one of the people to decide fee waivers?
Or maybe they just don't want their own ugrads.

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
I asked for one from Iowa a while ago, and was told to e-mail after Sept. 1st. I thought that would be easy enough, so that's what I did. Instead of sending me a fee waiver, they want proof of LSAT or GPA and a form filled out. I just sent those to them, I hope this works out.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
