Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
I got the Duke PT and Waiver.
CRS was over a year ago. I did the 'forum trick' a few weeks ago, but I don't think that really works. I don't know why I got something from Duke and no one else..

3.44 (till my corrected transcript gets processed) and 173. No duke waiver, and I really wanted one. I am going to email them if I don't get one soon.

Weak... no Duke PT or waiver. And they're one of my top choices (a bit of a stretch, but still a top choice).

Just heard back from LSAC, I had registered for a forum over the summer but that counts for the last cycle. Registered for another one this fall, hopefully that works. LSAC indicated thats all it takes to be included in school searched after 1+ years with CRStkgrrett wrote:FWIW, I did the forum sign up trick and it worked for me.Brick_Tamlin wrote:
Could just be that the whole making sure CRS is active thing didn't work out, I'm just gonna get in touch with them. Theory seemed reasonable to me.

Ok, I want the Duke waiver. Very badly. 171, 3.8.
I just changed my expected attendance date from 2010 to 2011 though, so maybe that's why I hadn't gotten yet... although I got GULC and Minnesota...
But seriously, Duke, just give me the waiver.

No harm in e-mailing to request one

I would've loved a Duke PT with 168 3.88... I'm guessing you needed a 170+ for that invite though.

Oh, I e-mailed them. And someone responded saying my request was forwarded to the Director of Admissions. So I take that as a good sign...msch0i wrote:No harm in e-mailing to request one

Let us know what happens. I was planning to ask for waivers in a few weeks, but if they're gonna hand em out now... (I really, really want that Duke waiver...)DaveBear07 wrote:Oh, I e-mailed them. Also, (FWIW) I got an e-mail from the California School of Law inviting me to apply. Apparently I'm a good academic fit for their program. Not sure how I feel about this.

Bro,
The Director of Admissions wrote me back personally and offered me the fee waiver and PT. Very nice touch, Duke, I'm impressed.
Also, he cited the fact that my intended enrollment date for some reason said 2010 as the reason why I was not initially contacted.
So, great success.

Ildeuce, what are your numbers? I am interested in seeing who they are targeting for that program.Ildeuce wrote:fo shocrossingforHYS wrote:the one with the ED app?Ildeuce wrote:GW merit scholarship informational via snail mail
EDIT: Nevermind, I see you listed them earlier in the thread.

Yep, definitely curious about the program too, 100% tuition is something that's hard to overlook from a very solid LS. What're yours?Calla Lily wrote:Ildeuce, what are your numbers? To everyone who got the GWU waiver: did you already have your transcripts processed by LSAC? I have a 168 and a high GPA, but my CRS right now just has me at 3.75 and up because they haven't yet processed my transcript and I'm wondering whether that might explain the lack of a fee waiver (hopefully LSAC finishes processing it soon so that I can stop worrying about that).

Note: the GW thing was not a waiver (it was just an info card about applying ED). Not having your transcript in yet might affect some waivers, though.Bildungsroman wrote:To everyone who got the GWU waiver: did you already have your transcripts processed by LSAC?
