Sent requests to Cornell and NYU (both declined). Cornell pointed me to the online fee waiver policy, and NYU said "CRS only - make sure you are registered."
Oh well, I tried!
ETA: Very friendly decline from Georgetown but they said if I get a new LSAT score I could email them again. I'm not retaking, and I'm already above their 75th though...
I laughed when I saw the Gtown part... how soon did you hear back from them?
Within 24 hours. Lol well I'm a splitter so maybe everything is unpredictable...
Got the same response from Gtown... it's just template. I doubt they even read our email request...
I got a different template, then - didn't even tell me to try again:
Unfortunately, we are unable to grant your request for an application fee waiver although we strongly urge you to apply and hope that you are able to do so.

They did the same to me but I haven't answered yet. Did you give them a why essay or just a few sentences describing why?

Same to me! I sent them my personal statement as an attachment, but just a few sentences describing why (which I then expanded on for my "why duke" essay).

I just described my reasons in several sentences, but I indicated that I will submit application along with a Why Duke Essay.

Debating whether or not I should wait just in case, or just apply earlier now.
Happened to me at Vandy only, otherwise the places I failed to solicited didn't end up giving me CRS fee waivers (Cornell and MIch) but got unsolicited fee waivers from all other T14 without sending a prior fee waiver request

Do schools take into account your GPA or just LSAT when they send these out? My GPA is below 25th for all the t14 but my LSAT is above 50th/75th for most. I received unsolicited from majority of the schools as well.

I received an unsolicited fee waiver application in the mail from Stanford. WTF
To clarify, it was not a fee waiver. It was an invitation to apply with a waiver request form.
167/3.8 , is what makes it a WTF

Back in June and only a 166, but a GPA above their 75th. Pretty surprised, but its probably an attempt to decrease their acceptance rate.
very interesting haha I took mine last December and have > 75ths in both but no fee waiver haha, so you're probably right?

I think that schools just don't send them out to people who are far above their medians. I don't think it's necessarily that they are going for a decreased acceptance rate...it's probably also that they can only send out so many fee waivers and they aren't going to set them to every single person who scored from their 25th all the way up to 4.0/180. They need to cut it off somewhere.
I've concluded this after conducting a completely unbiased and totally scientific study on myself wherein I didn't get fee waivers from anyone that I was over both 75ths for (except for TTT schools).

See that's bizarre though because I had fee waivers from every T14 and was able to get need-based fee waivers from HYS. So Columbia was the one outlier - no clue what happened there and they were totally biatches about negotiating or being open to need-based or even pulling through CRS. Whatever - shame I had to waste $115 though

Did you get approved for fee waivers from LSAC and Columbia still didn't waive the fee?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
