They sent me one even though I already applied. In fact, my application complete email came an hour after they sent me a fee waiver.lc39 wrote:Damn, no love from Chicago or Columbia. I feel sad.

Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
They probably figure (correctly) that I'm going to apply anyway. But thanks. I'm not going to be ready to submit for a while anyway so we'll see if I get one next wave. In the mean time it's an extra $160 I have to find somewhere.xylocarp wrote:that's pretty crazy, given your awesome numbers plus URM statuslc39 wrote:Damn, no love from Chicago or Columbia. before applying, I guess I must have objectively understood how expensive apps were going to be, but it didn't really sink in until after I was done with most of them. the things I could have bought if apps were all free...lc39 wrote:They probably figure (correctly) that I'm going to apply anyway. I got the same one from Charlotte. If its a mass text I feel less obligated to reply.pulstar1 wrote:I have yet to receive any TTText messages. FYI apparently UChicago fee waivers are good for exactly a year, so if you got one last year pay attention to the date (so you don't end up like me and realize you've missed getting your fee waived by three days #whomp)

Tried to solicit from Chicago and was shot down. I really don't have the money to apply right now but I don't qualify for the LSAC need based waiver

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Chicago doesn't start admitting RD people til January(which is ridiculous btw). Plus with your numbers you'll be competitive no matter when you apply.lashley wrote:Tried to solicit from Chicago and was shot down. Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
How many of the T-14s give merit fee waivers? And is this stricly lsat or also gpa?
I don't want to pay for any apps, the $26 to lsac for each is already alot.
Im waiting on my Sept LSAT score and i know i got atleast 170 unless they have like a -8 curve, but my gpa is 3.3 but I am urm (black male) but i dont know if this boost also applies to merit fee waivers. Im gonna be applying Harvard to Cornell.

All but YHS and Berkeley give merit waivers. Also, it's $28 pet report. And Columbia and Chicago' s waivers missed a few 170+ folks so I wouldn't count on them.

I'm not sure about unsolicited, but if youre going to solicit a fee waiver from any t-14 beside YHS and Berk, then you can certainly mention the fact that youre AA. Your URM status will most likely give you a better shot when soliciting fee waivers.canadianbrother wrote:How many of the T-14s give merit fee waivers? And is this stricly lsat or also gpa?

Edit: Looking at your username, I guess you would technically be an AAC - African-American Canadian. Saying "black male" will probably be fine too.

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 4&start=75 from what I see here it looks like am. If i do get the boost it looks like id be competitive in the t6, if not I'd stay in Canada, I just dont wanna pay over 100 for each school apply for

I think it's the same boost as long as you're black, or that's what I've heard. canadianbro, I'd ask in the URM forumsmccgrey wrote:Not to be a party pooper but I don't think being AA counts unless you also have the second A...
as in a Canadian won't get the boost....

Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
I've been lurking on this thread for a few days so I figured I'd finally chime in.
I've got all the attainable fee waivers so far except for Chicago which makes me very sad.
Not to sound like an arrogant jerk but I'm a bit afraid of yield protection (179 on the February lsat) so I figured I'd send them a fee waiver request so they know I'm interested. *crosses fingers*

Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
Do you guys think new fee waivers will be released to people who havent yet received them and who arent taking this September's LSAT?
I have my fingers crossed for a Chicago, Columbia, and Cornell fee waiver (the last of the fee waiving T14s I havent received), but I also just want to submit the applications. Does anyone thing if I hold off for 1-2 more weeks I'm likely to see any new fee waivers? FYI: 3.9+/168.
