Vandy and Wisconsin aren't T14. Actually, Wisconsin isn't even all that good, outclassed by Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois for strong regional schools in the Upper Midwest.

Yeah, I know. I didn't mean to make Wisconsin bold and Vandy is the only school outside the T-14 that I'm planning to apply to.

Just got Alabama via email. Really ought to pin down exactly where that is... but it's been a long time since 5th grade.

Re: Post December LSAT Fee Waivers
Got a solicited waiver from Chicago-Kent.
EDIT: Just checked the mail and I got a nice letter and a shiny brochure from Wisconsin... with no fee waiver. Sorry, Madison.

Re: Post December LSAT Fee Waivers
I took the December LSAT and I received four waivers through the mail...
U. Wisconsin
Michigan State U.
Quinnipiac
Charleston School of Law
Though, I am Hispanic, so maybe that had something to do with the waivers? Nonetheless, I still received the waivers without a request.

Got Michigan yesterday - fee waiver hidden under cover of booklet. 2nd waiver they sent me, I'm pretty sure.

How do they choose? It seems pretty random.
I got 3 after- from Columbia, UVA, and Minnesota.
But I'm not applying this year.

I got a letter from Cornell today. At first I thought it was a fee waiver, but they were only offering to waive their Feb. 1 deadline for me.

Same here. My eyes jumped down to the word "waive," and I was a bit annoyed.MBZags wrote:I got a letter from Cornell today. At first I thought it was a fee waiver, but they were only offering to waive their Feb. 1 deadline for me.

+1, but I actually already applied. My application hasn't gone complete yet, so I'm assuming that's why I still got one?

No mention of a fee waiver
but I got a letter from Yale saying, "We searched the CRS(Candidate Referral Service)[sponsored by the Law School Admission Council] database for students whose grades and LSAT scores suggest that they would be competitive applicants for Yale Law School, but who have not yet applied." Does Yale even do fee waivers?

HYS does not offer merit fee waivers. Financial need based ones can be obtained through forms, etc. I LOL'd when I saw that piece of mail, and put it in the pile with the other T2/T3/T4 mail that I get.fphoenix85 wrote:No mention of a fee waiverbut I got a letter from Yale saying, "We searched the CRS(Candidate Referral Service)[sponsored by the Law School Admission Council] database for students whose grades and LSAT scores suggest that they would be competitive applicants for Yale Law School, but who have not yet applied." Also, Cornell sent me a "memorandum" telling me to apply and that they waived the application date. I can get reimbursed for my costs If I send the memorandum back as long with the CC information used on the LSAC site, they will credit me back. Did you guys check out the back of your Cornell letter?

I received the same packet last night. Yale doesn't automatically grant fee waivers, but in the packet they do invite you to apply for a fee waiver.fphoenix85 wrote:No mention of a fee waiverbut I got a letter from Yale saying, "We searched the CRS(Candidate Referral Service)[sponsored by the Law School Admission Council] database for students whose grades and LSAT scores suggest that they would be competitive applicants for Yale Law School, but who have not yet applied." I also just got one from Columbia. But for most people, the marginal cost of applying to one extra school isn't that big right?

I'm hoping I get one of those Columbia e-mails.

Cornell already has more apps than they know what to do with. Do they really need to be waiving their application deadline right now?
