Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
Serious? What's weird is despite having like 600 students each year, GULC is still broke...where is all that money going and why is the Dean begging students for money at orientation?DecisionMaker100 wrote:Confirmed. GULC to 165.
Other schools (e.g., Michigan) have tons of money, and can afford to cut their class sizes. (I think Michigan just cut to 275, down from like 360 a couple years ago). This is why GULC needs to do - manage its finances better and cut its class size by like half.

"Moral obligation" aka no obligation. How about schools are "morally obligated" to pay back all tuition if someone graduates unemployed?Outis Onoma wrote:BrazilBandit wrote:"Please note that scholarship awards are given with the understanding that there is a moral obligation to repay the Law School if future financial circumstances permit repayment."
Confirmed, Deans are hypocritical assholes. I'll donate to my school when my Dean declines to take a salary out of moral obligation to her school.

Infuriatingly Penn again did not provide medians (even explicitly leaving them out where I normally would expect them, which makes me think they probably went down a bit). Can confirm class size is 239 (-11) students though.

Although, as usual, I am dissatisfied with Penn's lack of transparency (Berk and UVA got medians out with orientation), I don't think we will see a significant drop in their medians.Auxilio wrote:Infuriatingly Penn again did not provide medians (even explicitly leaving them out where I normally would expect them, which makes me think they probably went down a bit). Can't really tell, some very small changes, but this may be Seton Hall's numbers:
169 (+2)
156 (0)
3.47 (-.01)
http://law.shu.edu/ProspectiveStudents/ ... rofile.cfm
Like i said, it doesn't say which class this is...and really close to last year's numbers...

Nothing from HLS orientation but it was the first day. Also medians and class size are always the same

Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
Despite people thinking GULC's median is tanking this year, their LSN profile suggests they were warm on 167 splitters and cool on 166 splitters. So I'm expecting a 167 median again.
Of course, their house of splitter cards could have collapsed at the last minute via poor matriculation, which has happened before (see UIUC--of course, they just lied about it anyway). But I'm still expecting a 167 until notified otherwise. It's virtually guaranteed not to be higher than that.

Of course, if any school is going to have a last-minute median collapse, it would probably be GULC. They don't have the scholarship money to compete these days. The days of using their law school as an ATM to fund the rest of the under-funded university are over, and there's not much to show for it. I kind of expect a long-term decline.

Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
I had some contact from Savannah last cycle, and I have to say, they were probably the most polite, informational, and supportive group in all of their communication -- and exceedingly good at selling their school. Certainly not enough to entice an application, but its pretty understandable why they would be able to enroll some students so far above their medians.urbanist11 wrote:Savannah Law School
