Not really. I got info from Regent and Valparaiso, but no waiver.

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
How quickly do fee waivers tend to come in for first-time September LSAT takers?
I will be testing in September for the first time -- with scores released on October 19th. If I want my apps in by Nov 1st, do I have any chance in hell of receiving fee waivers during that 2-week period? Or will I certainly have to pay for every app that I want in early?

That's a bit too tight I think. I got some of the waivers in the week immediately after test results were released, but most of them came more than 2 weeks after.Tangerine Gleam wrote:If I want my apps in by Nov 1st, do I have any chance in hell of receiving fee waivers during that 2-week period? Thanks for the fast reply. I figured it would be unlikely...yet ONE MORE reason I wish I had decided to apply to law school earlier (and had taken the June LSAT)!jackassjim wrote:That's a bit too tight I think. Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
U Penn has a hidden one that's free with an lsac fee waiver.
So does U Chicago..Please Note: If LSAC has granted you an LSAC Fee Waiver, you do not need to submit the Penn Law Fee Waiver Application. Candidates who receive a fee waiver from LSAC will automatically receive an application fee waiver from Penn Law. On the application, check that you have been granted an LSAC Fee Waiver. When you transmit your application, you will be prompted to electronically sign your application but you will not be prompted for payment information.
The application fee is $75 (US funds only), and may be paid by credit card. Alternatively, you may pay by check or money order made payable to: The University of Chicago Law School. The check or money order should be included with your signed Certification Letter. We will extend application fee waivers only for those applicants granted a fee waiver from LSAC.

I asked that same question (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... =2&t=80436). The fee waiver should hit once you are ready to submit the application and check out.

Same for me. I got an e-mail on July 26th. I'm sure it will come through after you've submitted your app.

sorry if this question has been asked. what happens if you apply to a school early, then get a fee waiver? are you f-ed or do you get refunded for what you've already paid?

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
has anyone successfully obtained a fee waiver from g-town by emailing and asking for it?
also, does anyone have some kind of sample email for this purpose? I'm a little unsure of what to say. "gimme a fee waiver cuz lsac didn't and i'm poor" just doesn't seem right somehow...

I haven't done it yet but I plan on sending e-mails in September if I don't get the fee waivers that I want. I would just mention your scores, say that you think you are qualified but the app process has been expensive etc. The worst they can do is just say is no.tintin wrote:has anyone successfully obtained a fee waiver from g-town by emailing and asking for it?

certainly you are f-ed. the entire purpose of fee waivers (from the school's point of view) is to encourage more applications. if they've already got an application from you there's no reason at all for them to offer you a waiver.humdrum wrote:sorry if this question has been asked. what happens if you apply to a school early, then get a fee waiver? are you f-ed or do you get refunded for what you've already paid?

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
Just FYI...I have sent several of these e-mails already, and most have outright said "no" to any fee waivers besides LSAC need based and the schools own internal need based (which is very strict on your finances, and parents IIRC). The rest have said that you have to apply for fee waiver at the time of application, and if you get denied at that time, you are just stuck with paying. I know that people from previous cycles have said that this can be successful, but I think the economy and the anticipated flux of applicants might be affecting this year.lz06 wrote:I haven't done it yet but I plan on sending e-mails in September if I don't get the fee waivers that I want. If you get even a few, it is worth it, but I wouldn't expect much success.
Edited for additional info.

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
I've received 2 today by doing this method. Granted, my situation is a bit more unusual seeing as I was WL at these schools with my old LSAT and now am above the 75th% with my new score. I'm most likely reapplying, so by taking 5 minutes to compose 2 emails I saved over $100! Not a bad deal.lz06 wrote:I haven't done it yet but I plan on sending e-mails in September if I don't get the fee waivers that I want. While mine didn't quite say blah, blah, blah, I did receive their email. Was really hoping for a GW fee waiver too - might be the difference between whether I apply there or not.

I got that same email. I was all excited to open the email, hoping to see a fee waiver, but it was just informational. Oh well...humdrum wrote:

Cause mine, like everyone else's, was just informational...
