Re: Darrow Invite
Did anyone else receive a followup?
Dear Objection,
I just wanted to touch base with you regarding our invitation a couple of weeks ago to apply for our Darrow Scholarship. The deadline for sending in the application essay is tomorrow, and I'm very much hoping that you're planning to apply! We would love to have the opportunity to consider you for this award; among our very strong applicant pool, your materials truly stood out as exceptional. If you need an extension, please just let me know.
You may, however, have firmly decided that merit scholarships notwithstanding, another law school is right for you. If so, I would appreciate your letting me know.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

What is a full Darrow? Tuition plus stipend? This is motivating me to get my essay done.Objection wrote:Full.Darrow.

Re: Darrow Invite
Question about Darrow: do people who applied later on in the cycle have a shot at it? or is it something solely for early birds?

Re: Darrow Invite
Does that mean $7500 at the end of 1L but nothing at the end of 2L and 3L, or 7500 at the end of 2L and 3L but nothing after 1L?treple wrote:omg... Full Darrow

7500 after 1L. I assume they're not paying you after 2L and almost certainly not after 3L.

Re: Darrow Invite
Well, it could be interpreted as $7500 at the beginning of each the 2L and 3L years, but not 1L year.treple wrote:7500 after 1L. I assume they're not paying you after 2L and almost certainly not after 3L.

Re: Darrow Invite
Congrats everyone! I also received the full Darrow, and I was wondering when you all were planning on visiting? They said they would give us $500 for travel expenses, which is really helpful. I would love to meet some of the other TLSers who are considering the scholarship. What is it coming down to for everyone else? From what I can see from thousands of miles away, I really love Michigan. I am also really interested in NYU's scholarship programs, though, and they are just such a fantastic school for public interest law (which is what I want to do).
Gah, making a decision is going to be very difficult. Objection, do you think you would take the Darrow over your Harvard acceptance?

In my mind, a Darrow at UMich beats out nearly everything, possibly even HYS. Congrats to all who were granted the scholarship.

I'm thinking my numbers will keep me from getting a full one. Half would still be kick-ass.

Re: Darrow Invite
I just got the invite today. Did everyone adhere strictly to the 500 word limit? I'm not sure what to write because I said most of what the prompt asks for in my PS!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
