Re: LSAC Data: Fall 2013 Applications
last cycle, lets not forget NYU's waitlist movement was beyond epic. I remembered they took a 3.5/170 off the waitlist. that number is below both medians, not withstanding gpa's on the 25th. so lets hold our breath till then.
splitter gpa's with 3.4 are definitely having an easier time, LSN proof. if your gpa's below 3.3 you're gonna be a stretch no matter which cycle u're applying.

Thank you, OP!99.9luft wrote: As of 03/08/13, there are 323,167 Fall 2013 applications submitted by 46,587 applicants. Applicants are down 17.9% and applications are down 21.6% from 2012. Last year at this time, we had 84% of the preliminary final applicant count.

This 84% of preliminary final applicant count is translating into 55,500 applicants for this cycle.

Looks like we are seeing a late surge in the # of applicants?

Re: LSAC Data: Fall 2013 Applications
I actually think some of the jump was due to the delayed feb lsat release. Which caused the numbers to drop a bit the previous weeks, before those people reentered....but I have nothing to base this onRetakeFrenzy wrote:True....it just went from 54,000 to 55,500wannabelawstudent wrote:I wouldn't call it a surge![]()

Re: LSAC Data: Fall 2013 Applications
too lazy to create a new topic but earlier today the LSAC posted the # of Feb '13 exam takers:
# of takers/ % change from last year
19,286/-12.9%
THIS IS THE LOWEST FEB. # EVER (well, since 1987).
Overall, the total # of takers was 112,515 or -13.4% decrease from last year.

The industry needs less lawyers. I hope the numbers keep declining.RetakeFrenzy wrote:Yeah... especially with more retakers, thanks to TLS.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:Looks like the trend isn't exactly turning around. Good.

Yes. I'm international and when I tell people how many lawyers are in the US, they don't believe meJohn_rizzy_rawls wrote:The industry needs less lawyers. I think it was because of the LSAC website going down right before 3/1 and schools extended their deadlines a week. It should fall back to 54,000 - last week's "surge" was a fluke.True....it just went from 54,000 to 55,500
shouldn't have used that term..
Anyways... maybe all those desperate school emails extending deadlines and offering fee waivers are working?
I would actually be surprised if it reaches 54k applicants by the end of the cycle however. 51-52k seems more likely.
