I do. Is there any way the ensuing internet freakout would not be hilarious? I wouldn't have to go to the movies for at least a month, saving me a considerable sum from my entertainment budget.JamMasterJ wrote:FantasticMrFox wrote:TheFactor wrote:paulinaporizkova wrote:WHO GIVES A FUCK.

I like to refer to Top 10, and then explain that there are about 12 schools who consider themselves Top 10.

I didn't say more entertaining. I'm on a tight budget here. I'll take what I can get.FantasticMrFox wrote:Seriously? If you think people "freaking out" about Georgetown not being in T14 anymore is more entertaining than actual entertainment, I don't know what to say to you...

If you want to see some action, start referring to the T8.Patriot1208 wrote:Everyone refers to the t13 already.

If you are going to refer to the T8, might as well refer to the T6, else be called a Penn/Mich troll.
If you are going to refer to the T6, might as well refer to the T4, else be called a Chi/NYU troll.
If you are going to refer to the T4, might as well refer to the T3, else be called a Colombia troll.
If you are going to refer to the T3, might as well just say Yale or bust, else be called a H/S troll.

Nothing would happen, Georgetown is a good school but just about on par with other top schools outside the t14 aka Vanderbilt, USC, UCLA etc

I oddly feel like I'm taking shots at the throne in some fashion, but I agree. GULC places in DC, doesn't it? Isn't that where a lot of people would like to practice, non-legal considerations notwithstanding?Adm.Doppleganger wrote:Everytime I hear this Georgetown being on par, even just about on par, with t15-19 jazz I can't help but feeling lied to.Sounder89 wrote:Nothing would happen, Georgetown is a good school but just about on par with other top schools outside the t14 aka Vanderbilt, USC, UCLA etc
GT is just GT, all by itself. Between any of t19-15 schools at the same price as GT I'd take GT every time. I'd also just refer to it as GT because I do not have the time to type out whole school names. I only have time to type out this explanation to why I don't usually refer to schools by their whole name.
I feel so be-trolled by Vanderbilt, UT and UCLA students every time GT comes up.

I know I’m asking for it with this post, but…cmckid wrote:Pretty sure UT and Vandy already have better/equal placement than the bottom of the top 14, so we might just start calling it the top 17 or top 20. Besides, Gtown is about as regional as those two schools in where it places graduates. I'd say you'd start calling it in terms of t10-12 national vs. 11- 50 regional schools instead of t14.
Yeah, GULC is regional. You know, the region that runs our nation? Sigh. I know we all love the rankings for making us feel important, but not everyone picks their school for rankings, big law or because they want to teach at Harvard someday. Many people go to GULC because they want to work for the government, DC interest groups or IGOs. GULC gets the shaft when it comes to rankings because it has different priorities.
Its placement is regional because DC is a desirable region to work, not because it lacks national reach.

GULC's NYC placement is probably better than its DC placement (and in certain years has passed it percentage-wise).azure55 wrote:Yeah, GULC is regional. You know, the region that runs our nation? Ah, forgot to mention that. Again, not a bad region to work.bk187 wrote:GULC's NYC placement is probably better than its DC placement (and in certain years has passed it percentage-wise).azure55 wrote:Yeah, GULC is regional.
