Anyone who can get a 165 on the LSAT should be getting a 1300+ on their SAT. That's the reason why most people in the T14 are from good undergrad programs.
Also don't trust what people claim boosted their cycle. People on TLS come up with all sorts of weird shit they think got them their reaches, until you find out they were target schools. Check any thread about getting reaches. You find idiots claiming that doing Jump rope for heart in sixth grade got them into IUB with a 166.

I'm using good loosely. It's usually enough to get into your top state school, or a good regional private school. Which is where most T14ers went to undergrad.FiveSermon wrote:1300+ on the SAT = good undergrad program?Desert Fox wrote:Anyone who can get a 165 on the LSAT should be getting a 1300+ on their SAT. Meh, it was good but not great, and was right at my school's median. And my GPA was considerably below my school's 25%ile (for a school known to be a GPA whore). I applied ED (which certainly helped me a lot), but my point was that my overall app probably wasn't strong enough to overcome a mediocre undergrad, if mediocre undergrads were counted against applicants.FiveSermon wrote:CHECK YOU LSATbeachbum wrote:Meh, I attend an incredibly mediocre undergrad (just barely in the T100), and I'm headed to a T14 this fall. And there sure as hell isn't anything else about my app (besides my charming personality) that would compensate for my relatively poor undergrad.

Schools don't. Employers seem to.

Completely anecdotal. T30, good grades, LR...got CB's/offers at places that other kids with similar stats and WE didn't. It wasn't exactly a holding-all-variables-except-UG-constant situation (maybe they blew their interviews, I definitely blew a few), but I couldn't see any other differences between us, at least on paper. Again, just one person's experience. Could be way off.beachbum wrote:Would love to hear more on this.MrKappus wrote:Schools don't. Employers seem to.

damn. this decision is really stressing me out since its almost time to decided where to transfer. I could transfer into a school like UC Berekely or UCLA, but why would I do that when its much easier to get a 4.0 at a school like San Francisco State University...hmmmm
