Seriously. According to this the median Yale law student makes more per week in their 2L summer than mid-career. I suppose it's possible.99.9luft wrote:lolz @ yale

Law professor makes less than biglaw lawyer. This isn't all that surprising.tinman wrote:Seriously. According to this the median Yale law student makes more per week in their 2L summer than mid-career. I suppose it's possible.99.9luft wrote:lolz @ yale

I'm pretty sure almost anyone would take professorship> big law.PDaddy wrote:99.9luft wrote:lolz @ yale
When TLS has had postings asking members to rank law schools, people always ask why I put Yale at about #8 or #10. Now you know!
The fact that a school can lure a bunch of overacheiving geeks with no people skills, most of whom will never know as much as even the typical second-tier law grad about actual law "practice", does not make it a great school to attend. It certainly does not mean the school should be as highly ranked as it is. Yale admits "numbers" not people, and employers are rightly suspicious of Yale's grading system, or lack thereof. Thirdly, Yale's grads who take clerkships, only to go on to become law profs, analysts or authors, need to do so.
As the saying goes, those who can...DO; those who can't...TEACH.

Not that law professors aren't generally well compensated, but not like if they stayed in prestigious private practice.
