LSN is just a fraction of all applicants. I'm not on LSN and I was accepted with a GPA below 3.0 (without the fall grades).

If she had 2.9+ i would say she does have a chance with a good application.

With 2.7 I do agree she doesn't have any chance

2.98 is 3.0.

I must have confused you with someone else on the hispanic part. 2.98 is a guess because in a different thread you said were over 3.0 your grades came out. Was I right?

Yeah-when my fall grades came out in December i was slightly over 3.0 (It was lower when I applied) 2.89 (I think)

OP, where does your student want to practice? IUB, WUSTL, UIUC, UMinn, Iowa, etc. are all fine schools, but if she wants to end up in Cali, they may not be the best options since they are regional (unless you're at the top of you class, which no one can bank on).

Apparently she wants to do international human rights law (a taboo subject on TLS I believe lol).

I got in to UIUC with a 166/2.6 (different cycle) but if she wants to do Int'l Human Rights, why even be a prestige whore? This seems to be an area where law school ranking does not matter as much.
