Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
What the hell, Cincinnati? I only got waivers from Seton Hall and Richmond today. I'm not going to apply to any of these schools ($12 is a good meal), but I have an ego that needs stroking.

I don't know but I'm honestly anxious to check my emails now. Never know when ya might get that fee waiver you've been hoping for...
Just kindda exciting I suppose.

I cleaned it up a little bit, better/worse?kartal wrote:Can you please also post your LSAT score so that we know what the school target range for sending these e-mails?yoitsmebenny wrote:I received an email from the University of Cincinnati this morning and figured we could get a thread going of what schools are giving out application fee waivers and when.
Please note this is for applicants who will be applying for admission to start school in Fall 2011.
Without further ado, let's begin the list.

Ohio Northern University - 6/29/10

Now don't go getting all jealous because you didn't get a Phoenix School of Law waiver now...yoitsmebenny wrote:I cleaned it up a little bit, better/worse?kartal wrote:Can you please also post your LSAT score so that we know what the school target range for sending these e-mails?yoitsmebenny wrote:I received an email from the University of Cincinnati this morning and figured we could get a thread going of what schools are giving out application fee waivers and when.

I'm dumb.yoitsmebenny wrote:We are applying to start class in the Fall of 2011.lawschoollll wrote:Fall 2011? Why not Fall 2010...?
Anyway, I took the February 2010 LSAT, applied, withdrew from all my schools because I decided for various reasons to wait a year, and am planning on re-applying this fall (2010). I'm signed up for CRS, but haven't been getting fee waivers, I'm assuming since I got them all last cycle and many schools probably assume that I'm starting school this fall. Should I just email schools I'm interested in to try to get waivers?
Anyone have an idea as to the answer to my second question, though?

With a 177, I got Cincinatti and Seton Hall too, but also from Richmond. My self-reported GPA is below 3.5 though, so that might be why Entchen didn't get one from them but I did.

Yep, you can email/call to request fee waivers. Nothing wrong with that.lawschoollll wrote:I'm dumb.yoitsmebenny wrote:We are applying to start class in the Fall of 2011.lawschoollll wrote:Fall 2011? Why not Fall 2010...?

Probably not regional, unless everyone who got one lives VA itself -- I'm in DC, so that's pretty close.Sammi wrote: Maybe Richmond is a regional thing. I got all the fee waivers except those as well.
That said, I'm not terribly offended.

Could it hurt with your target/reach schools? Maybe they think less of you because they know you'll have financial woes?TOMaHULK wrote:Yep, you can email/call to request fee waivers. If you are asking for a merit-based waiver, then there is no need to demonstrate financial need. Need-based waivers shouldn't affect admissions at all - that would be horrible.Ildeuce wrote: Could it hurt with your target/reach schools? This is the same with me. All you're going to have to do is e-mail the schools you want the waivers for. You are sure to get many with your numbers obviously.acrossthelake wrote:I took the LSAT last September and got fee waivers for last cycle that were silly because I was a junior. Looks like we might have our answer. I took it in February and got fee waivers for this past cycle. Anyone else with this same problem?acrossthelake wrote:I took the LSAT last September and got fee waivers for last cycle that were silly because I was a junior. This is my case too. I wonder if you can email LSAC and let them know you are applying again this year.lawschoollll wrote:Fall 2011? Why not Fall 2010...?

do the schools pay attention to where u live and send out fee waivers based on who lives nearby or do they just send them out regardless?

I think they pay more attention to your "I am interested in law schools in the following states/regions" form you fill out on LSAC.yoiav wrote:do the schools pay attention to where u live and send out fee waivers based on who lives nearby or do they just send them out regardless?

Tulsa's application is free to everyone - the email they sent out wasn't a fee waiver, it was a "hey look at us".

MA resident
UGPA: 3.67
LSAT: 166
I got fee waivers from Cincinnati, Seton Hall, and Richmond, too. I might actually take a good look at Richmond now, have family nearby and from the 25/75 stats from last year, looks like I'd be up for a good merit scholarship
Definitely looking forward to more though

Send them an email or call? I might do this or I might just contact the schools I'm interested in.acrossthelake wrote:Hmmm....how does one contact LSAC to do so?Hey-O wrote:This is my case too.
