Did you all donate to Haiti a month ago because they needed it or are we all omg Haiti because of the earthquake?

I was going to say something about diverting funds away from curing your mom/sister/"special aunt's" VD, but honestly...what the fuck ever, dude.Alfonso Soriano wrote:Did you all donate to Haiti a month ago because they needed it or are we all omg Haiti because of the earthquake?

If people can be moved to help in times of dire need, then it is unfair to call the act vain just because they did not pay attention before. In the end, Haiti will probably have a better infrastructure than it did before the earthquake, and maybe that's a blessing in disguise.Alfonso Soriano wrote:Fair and honest. My GW section is up to $900 as of class today. Surely most of TLS can best a barely-T30.

Yeah, maybe you all should move this into announcements so it shows up on every board.

For the law students here, we just got an email from Lexis alerting us that we can donate our rewards points to Red Cross. I think 250 points is ~$5. I just donated 1000 points. I don't use Westlaw but maybe someone who does can find out if there is something similar with them.

That's pretty cool. Apparently Lexis Nexis has long had an option to donate points to charities. I just did a tutorial to push me up over 1250 points and then donated $25 to the Red Cross. (That pushes my total donations up to $35 so far.)NYU2011 wrote:For the law students here, we just got an email from Lexis alerting us that we can donate our rewards points to Red Cross. Since they have a couple tutorials worth up to 400 points each now, this actually means you can make money for the Red Cross by sitting through a short mindless tutorial. It shouldn't be too hard to at least accrue 250 points and donate $5 in a few minutes.
Cool.

$945. Hell yes!
Is anyone else's school having a disaster response meeting? We're having one on the 19th, and I hope I can do something useful.
