Seriously, every time I think about this thread, it magically appears. Too bad I'm not religious--back to work I go.

I decided to head out a week early - leaving July 10th. The extra week of pay is SO not worth it.

how much would it have to be before it became worth it?annapavlova wrote:I decided to head out a week early - leaving July 10th. The extra week of pay is SO not worth it.

Just gave my notice. I decided to do it early because they keep making me feel guilty with promotion offers. It went well. I'm done July 10. Plus they offered to let me work with their lawyers on cases during school breaks. It's an insurance company, so there are law suits to go around.

It's my last week. I've come in at noon every day and left late in the evenings, but I really haven't done much. I want to be finished!

Re: So, anybody ready to quit their jobs yet?
I told my boss today that I decided to leave August 5th instead of July 31 as originally planned.
1. One more month of free health insurance
2. One more day of paid out vacation time
3. $800 bonus for being employed from March 30-Aug 1
4. Three more days of pay
I'm really going to be fighting it that Monday (Aug3) morning though.

Re: So, anybody ready to quit their jobs yet?
I think July 24th will be my last day.
I realllly want to take a 2 week trip to Ireland. Or perhaps somewhere tropical (since I hear Michigan isn't exactly swarming with palm trees). Now I just have to find a friend who is unemployed and looking to do the same...

Now that I am deferring for a year, I am totally jealous of everyone quitting their jobs soon.

Re: So, anybody ready to quit their jobs yet?
It is going to be a challenge, but hopefully it won't be a full year. My wife is going to start looking for jobs in Seattle around January, and once she finds something I'll leave my job and we will move. I will then get to be a stay-at-home dad until I start law school, which I think will actually be pretty fun for a while, I'm glad it will only be for a few months though.hoffb86 wrote:I would not survive another year at my office.... no way.jcl2 wrote:Now that I am deferring for a year, I am totally jealous of everyone quitting their jobs soon.
