1Ls at SLS start in August, right? Are we expecting numbers from that orientation soon, or do they typically do a later reveal?
I'm curious to see if they kept 172, went back to 171, or even went up to 173.

Orientation starts today. No idea on the medians but we had a class size of 177 as of yesterday morning, per an email.TheBananaStand wrote:1Ls at SLS start in August, right? Are we expecting numbers from that orientation soon, or do they typically do a later reveal?

Edit: Clarification

Ah, yeah totally misunderstood what the speculation was about lol. Yes, class size! I'll take a guess that SLS is dropping the LSAT median though.admitmenowplzkthxbai wrote:177 as in class size?lc39 wrote:Orientation starts today. Haha, I could see how it could be interpreted that way from my phrasing. You almost crushed a lot of dreams right there (and months before SLS had the opportunity to do that themselves! Heh).lc39 wrote:Ah, yeah totally misunderstood what the speculation was about lol. Yes, class size! I guess because orientation is meant to be a feelgood "welcome to school X, the greatest school in the world!" so it just wouldn't fit to mention bad news.TheodoreKGB wrote:What do schools gain by not disclosing their medians? No median numbers from Penn tonight, but class size is somewhere between 240-250 239. Not sure how much that is worth, but essentially no significant change in size from last year.

Numbers don't become official for reporting purposes until October. So I guess the numbers could still change (most likely down, if people drop).TheodoreKGB wrote:What do schools gain by not disclosing their medians? It's orientation, so the die is cast. edit: also, some schools have been giving offers as late as the week before orientation.

Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
More surprising than the non-mention of the LSAT median (which I indeed assume is nothing to be pumped about) was the dean's utterly shameless request to start donating money right now, since "giving back" is somehow important. Ehhhhh pretty sure nobody is going to even consider give you a fucking cent when we've just paid tuition and all we got was some limp sandwiches and 15 mins of active shooter training, but OK, Dean Treanor, great way to make us feel welcome.chuckbass wrote:GULC to 160 confirmed.admitmenowplzkthxbai wrote:SirArthurDayne wrote:Does that mean LSAT median will be lowest everGray wrote:Dean Treanor mentioned tonight that GULC's median GPA for c/o 2018 is it's highest ever (I'm pretty sure that's what he said, but anyone else who was there should correct me if I'm wrong)

Gulc sounds like a shithole. I'd rather attend a shithole that advertises itself as a shithole than gulc

I'm guessing a 165 median for GULC, with a 162 25th and a 168 75th.
A 161 25th percentile LSAT is probably not a stretch though. I know at least one non-URM, 157/8 (can't remember), 3.9ish K-JD attending this fall.

I would laugh, but I'm scared for Cornell. I'm hopeful that we start to see a return on our insane biglaw placement (relative to our status as a "low" T14), but I could also see our medians taking a hit because Ithaca. I don't know why you wouldn't want to come here with big money though.runinthefront wrote:I'm guessing a 165 median for GULC, with a 162 25th and a 168 75th.
