I FEEL SO UNLOVED.
Still nothing from any t14s save Penn. (Penn's moving up in my book with every passing day.)

Re: Unsolicited Fee Waivers 2017
Just warning you guys in advance, please don't hate me! Also, this is my first post on TLS!!
URM Latino dude, 3.4 GPA (3.39 per LSAC wtfff) (change of majors lol), September 2016 LSAT score of 160. Since receiving my score last week, I've received a ton of unsolicited waivers, including:
Penn, Michigan, UVA (my top choice), Duke, Vanderbilt, Emory, Boston U, Georgia, U of Washington (actually that was sent after I attended the DC Law school fair on 9/23/16), William and Mary, and other lower-ranked schools obviously.
I've solicited from several other schools, like UNC, and received all EXCEPT Alabama, which rejected my proverbial advances yesterday lol
Let me know if any of this is normal since I definitely didn't expect a shower of waivers - and I plan to ask for more in the coming days and I suppose also after I take the December LSAT.

Re: Unsolicited Fee Waivers 2017
So I do not know if this means anything, but I did a get quite a few from the T14s, however I was surprised that UVA did not send me one. Now this is erring on the side of causation/correlation error but check this out. (I honestly think its more of a lucky/chance experience)
I wanted to see if UVA had a hidden fee waiver one day - I checked and there was nada. So I completed the app just to see if maybe they could see "app progression" and be incentivized to send a waiver??? I completed my app to about 95% (not that it matters) and saved it. The next day (yesterday) I checked it randomly and saw it it was waived on CRS. Then I sent it. HOWEVER, I did get the email soon after saying "we waived your fee", and it appears you guys did too. So I am now thinking that it was a very happy coincidence, as opposed to anything I did.
But since we are all slightly off-base during the app process and are willing to do anything I thought I would share. (just note I am not concluding anything, this is clearly one sample, and seems more like luck than anything).
I am trying the same for Columbia and seeing what happens, maybe Columbia just wants to be flirted with? Maybe they are that type of girl? We have to play some games, show some interest, take away some interest, post some photos with NYU for a bit, then maybe she will text us back??

Yeah i just got Columbia (surprised, I'm well below their LSAT median...). Nothing from Cornell or UVA though
edit: also the Columbia email was very adamant that I should not take the fee waiver to mean anything else haha

Re: Unsolicited Fee Waivers 2017
I am laughing so hard right now. It is either the case that I am very lucky and have been checking the actual application "fees" box too often OR I AM THE PROXIMATE CAUSE OF ALL FEE WAIVERS COMING OUT (jk, please see my above post).
So to follow up my last post, it so happens that my app now has a fee waiver, I checked before any emails (which I still do not have) from Columbia. And now that she "texted me back", I will apply.

Also got the Columbia waiver - 75th LSAT, sub-25th GPA. It's my biggest reach - not applying to HYS, Chi, B - and was going to be the only app fee I paid. Pretty excited to not be paying any app fees!

Also just got Columbia. That officially gives me a fee waiver for every school I plan on applying to (minus HLS of course).

Just got Columbia's fee waiver as well. I'm in the opposite boat, >75th GPA but <25 LSATPurple Post It Note wrote:+1 Columbia... 25-50th LSAT and GPA<25th
I suspect this is an attempt for them to boost their application numbers...
Can't decide if I want to buy that $30 rejection letter

Does anyone know the threshold on these? What were stats of people who received?
(For context I'm slightly above the GPA and at LSAT median.)
I got my fee waiver before my actual email came in, it took time to come in. It could be the case that they are (A) sending emails in waves or (B) dropped the ball on YOUR email (doubt it). With that being said, please check your LSAC account for a hidden waiver from Columbia. Meaning, fill in the application and take it all the way till you have to "add to cart" and see if a waiver pops up.
Hope this helps!

Huh. That's disappointing since I'm at their LSAT median, and above the 75th for GPA. Do you think I should try and solicit one from them? They're the only T14 that I'm waiting on.ood wrote:ReadyToStart wrote:Did you take the September LSAT?ood wrote:167 3.8

If you do, let us know how that goes. I'm above their 75ths and never got a fee waiver. Took LSAT in June. They're the only one I'm missing too.ReadyToStart wrote:Huh.
