It would be interesting to see a regression analysis on fee waivers. For ex, X percentage of applicants offered merit fee waivers from Columbia gained admission to H, Y, or S.

I know this can't possibly mean anything seeing as my numbers (3.6/3.7 and 167) are nowhere near their level, but I got unsolicited e-mails from Yale and Harvard. Just a blast to ensure they hit their rejection numbers?

Also, I see that a few got Wake. Are you in NC? I'm in-state and above their 50% numbers on GPA and LSAT. Should I solicit or just wait?

I'm 168/3.9 and BU told me they wouldnt give me one. I'm in the same boat where I dont have to pay for UPenn or Georgetown, but I do for BU? Seems a bit off.

Has anyone tried to solicit BC? When I did I was told-

"Thank you for your email. We do not grant fee waivers to those who are reactivating a previous application, transfers/visitors or international applicants."

Their response is odd since I'm not a previous applicant, transfer/visitors or international applicant. I've emailed them 2 times (over 2 weeks) to just get clarification around if there is something off in the system, and I havent heard a response.

I tried to solicit BC, they told me to ask again later...it was a little odd. Maybe the discrepancy is because schools like Penn and NYU have more money to allow for more fee waivers?
Did they say to ask again later or to wait for CRS? I was planning to ask when apps open, so maybe they don't take requests until oct. 1 when the app opens

Iowa unsolicited again.

And the Yale e-mail was just about a webinar for students from certain colleges in NC. Nothing special but didn't know how common it was in other areas.

No Columbia hidden waiver for me :( They're going to be at a graduate and professional school fair at my university this weekend, does anyone know if they give out waivers at those events? And if so how to approach that?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
