Re: So, anybody ready to quit their jobs yet?
I just realized that during vacation last week, I hardly visited TLS. Now that I am back at work, my posts are back on the rise.

Just 45 more work days. Nine freaking weeks more of employment. It feels like Christmas.

Today our senior manager announced i would be leaving for Law School this fall. Unfortunately, since I've been waitlisted at my dream schools and my actual school of attendence is TBD, that's what was announced. A flurry of inquiries followed. FML.

I'm done next Friday. The 12th cannot come quickly enough. I'm just trying to finish strong at this point though.

On terminal leave from the military right now. 54 days of paid leave is a wonderful thing.

did everyone give 2 weeks notice or longer? is it rude/not recommended to give a shorter notice depending on your circumstances?

42 days left...
As far as I know, 2 weeks is the acceptable standard, although if you're in a position of importance (i.e. you need to help train a replacement or something) you should probably give your employer even more notice.

2 weeks is usually appropriate, earlier if you can give it.l'arte d'arrangiarsi wrote:did everyone give 2 weeks notice or longer? is it rude/not recommended to give a shorter notice depending on your circumstances?

I gave tentative 2 weeks...3 weeks ago and I'm still here. I let them know that I was in the middle of attempting to get my apartment rented out and that as soon as I accomplish this I'm gone. They knew I was leaving for law school and they have no intention of replacing me.l'arte d'arrangiarsi wrote:did everyone give 2 weeks notice or longer? is it rude/not recommended to give a shorter notice depending on your circumstances?
