Does anyone know if it the package/letter comes to your "permanent address" or your "current address"?

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
Just checked the estimated cost for 1 yr at CLS as estimated by CLS:
$68,000
Don't think I can afford to go...
For some reason, I had it in my head that it would be more around $50,000.

Luckily you'll probably be able to net $20K+ each summer.

It's looking more and more like I'll be part of the CLS class of 2012! Any other admits visiting on Monday, February 16 (for one of their two special Monday visitation sessions, mentioned in the first mailing)?

That's true, but then we would need to be corporate mongers in order to earn that.mallard wrote:Luckily you'll probably be able to net $20K+ each summer.
For those who are not doing public interest and also not doing BigLaw, that is a ton of tuition.
At least you have the Butler in your back pocket (congrats again)

Does anyone know whether Columbia ever gives need-based grants?
Do only a tiny percentage of people get it?
Thanks!

They do have need-based grants, but, in order to qualify for them, both you AND your parents have to report income (read the section about eligibility - I got the impression that they will only give grants to people from low-income families, regardless of whether the family helps them financially or not)

My mail usually comes around 2. However, I'm teaching today until 4, so fingers crossed and hopefully I'll have good news later in the afternoon.Lem37 wrote:...I'm pretty sure that, for most people, the mail doesn't come for at least another hour.yagrish wrote:anyone today?

Starting to worry as well. I got a fall grades request and I'm a 4.5 index, but still haven't heard.

It's a an envelope (not that thick) and should fit if squished in a mailbox.
Mine was all ripped up when I received it.
People who are in the US aren't getting emails, just snail mail.

I'm surprised you haven't been accepted to CLS or NYU yet.
Did you turn in your application fairly late?
You have amazing stats and CLS loves ivy undergrads.
