I got one, and my numbers weren't "statistically competitive" in relation to UPenn, but I am a URM sad well so yes that may be why, as well.

GTown yes. I got one after I took the LSAT last year and it appears to have carried over

Why do schools give this? Greater chance at acceptance?

To attract qualified applicants, as they are merit based waivers.

I wonder whether my foreign UGPA (evaluated as B, 3.59) is a bummer as to the fee waiver...

Since my 174 September LSAT, I only got unsolicited waiver from vandy Emory and UPenn...

Maybe I'm just expecting too much too soon...

With my June 165 LSAT, I got nothing...

Also to inflate applicant pools to drive down acceptance rates.

I know this has got to be somewhere, but could someone explain/link me to how to ask schools for fee waivers? Also, is it advisable to ask for waivers for schools where your LSAT is below their 25% if your GPA is at least 50% or 75%? Or should we just ask for waiver regardless since you never know?

I found this http://www.top-law-schools.com/guide-to ... ivers.html helpful and it has a nice template in it that is useful. FWIW, I've received or solicited a fee waiver from schools where both my LSAT and GPA are below median but above the 25%. There's no harm in asking, worst they can do is say no.

So Georgetown and UVA apparently just sent out waivers. Even though I'm above GULC 75ths and above UVA's LSAT 75th and GPA 50th, no fee waivers for me... Should I just try and solicit them?

+1. Will also add that I solicited a fee waiver from UCLA this afternoon (roughy 3pm EDT) and just received a reply containing a fee waiver code. Don't be afraid to ask!

Unsolicited one just came from UCLA - 4:11 CST so probably not too far off!

Still, requested one from WUSTL on Friday that just came in as well, so always ask!

Yeah... I'm sending out requests to like 7 schools today but putting a line in about being sorry if one is coming from CRS - I just want to make sure I can send everything in this Friday!
