I didn't get a waiver from Cornell either. I'm at median for GPA and above their 75% for the LSAT.
Maybe they didn't send out all the waivers at once?

USC replied to my solicitation and said they'd start processing requests for waivers on 9/3.

What's the word on CCNP? Do they typically give fee waivers? If so, solicited or unsolicited, and when?

So, since there seemed to be a little interest, I'll go ahead and post the results of round one of need-based solicitations.
Granted:
Alabama Law
UVA
Cornell
Denied:
Chicago
Also of potential interest:
Hidden waiver:
Michigan
Unsolicited waivers (for schools to which I may actually apply):
William and Mary
Vanderbilt
Will apply for waivers after September 1st:
Harvard (well, mid-September - they were included in my first round and told me to request a fee waiver form in mid-September)
Penn
UC-Berkeley
GULC
UT-Austin

Did you contact each school directly to solicit a need based waiver? What was their process like? I'm not sure if I should go after need-based, since I'm not sure what they base it on (savings, monthly income, etc).

I emailed the schools directly, explained that I was having a difficult time affording law school application fees, attached my most recent financial aid award, and you see the results here. Some of the rest of the schools I still need to solicit from have forms, so I haven't done that yet. Honestly, just give it a shot. Worst case, you spent a few minutes trying. Best case, you save hundreds of dollars.

What do you mean by your most recent financial aid award?

I get substantial financial aid from both the government and my university, based on my FAFSA. I attached a copy of the award for this year to demonstrate that I am, in fact, as broke as I claim to be. It shows how much money I'm getting, and how much COA is at my school.

Did LSAC deny you the need based waiver ?

Yeah. Immediately. Like, when I put in my info to apply for the waiver, it immediately said that my (and my parents') income is too high (which I find to be insane since I qualified for a pell grant with that income).

Got a fee waiver via email this morning from MSU...and I have yet to take the LSAT (taking October test). I have an old score from 2004 that is no longer reported, so I'm at a loss as to why I got the fee waiver, but it was a little fun to see it in my inbox.

I also got this, with no LSAT on record at all.

I've been curious about these... their website seems to suggest that all fee waivers are need-based. Is that just a lie?

Yep, I solicited one last week. They replied that I would receive my waiver when I finished my application on LSAC (otherwise known as a hidden fee waiver).

Also got the UM packet. Very nicely done...my wife and I were trying to figure out if the note was a stamp or actually handwritten haha. Not sure how many they sent out but even if it is only a few hundred that would take a while to do. I liked the pictures. Looks like a cool place especially after visiting my local TT a couple of weeks ago

Solicited fee waivers from the following:
Georgetown- granted
UVA- Granted
Alabama- Granted
Washington and Lee- no fee this year
UT- denied
SMU- no response yet
Penn- no response yet
Northwestern- No fee if you apply before Nov 4
George Washington- told me to ask after Oct 1
Fordham- told me to ask after Sep 1
Duke- denied
Cornell- denied
Colorado- no response yet
Berkeley- no response yet
Texas Tech- denied
The fact that I got denied by Tech made me laugh. It's the only school I ask for a waiver from that my numbers exceed both 75%.

I called Colorado and was told to give them a call back at the end of September/beginning of October because they are busy squaring the incoming class away right now. I can PM you the number if you'd like.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
