I didn't think Tim Bergling was applying to law school. In any case, the 'F' should be for fuck shit up. I'll see you at UCLA in a year.Cheekie F Baby wrote:This will be my second cycle,

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle Applicants!
Interesting major from a top liberal arts college.
GPA: 3.65
LSAT: Who knows? My diagnostic was a 168 and I've been pretty consistently 174+ for the last few PT's. Just got 178 yesterday (!), but this is for early PT's so I have no idea how my real score will compare.
PS: Something about working abroad in Ukraine. Keep trying and failing at this.
Softs: Ok. Some leadership experience. International work experience along with speaking a few languages. Don't know if this means anything to law schools, but here's to hoping.
Favorite Reach: Harvard. I know it's completely unrealistic but that's why it's a reach. Far far reach.
Favorite Target: Columbia, Chicago
Favorite Safety: UVA, NU
I don't actually know if any of this seems reasonable, and doubt I'll actually know without a real LSAT. And even with that, I don't think I will know

Considering it, as well as to CC. LSP says I have the best shot at NYU with my 3.6/171, though, so I may be joining #teamEDtoNYU...katie96 wrote:Anyone here ED-ing to NYU as well?

Your GPA is below median for UVa and NU. I'm not saying you won't get in, especially if you get a 174+, but they are not "safeties."Little_engine wrote:Interesting major from a top liberal arts college.

170/3.97
Reaches: HYS, especially Stanford
Targets: CCN (considering ED, but I don't think I will)
Safeties: MVP/B on down
PS will likely focus on overcoming difficult childhood circumstances (I'd rather not go into details)

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle Applicants!
Guess this is as good a place as ever to jump in... Looking to apply this cycle and taking the LSAT for the first time in October. Yikes!
I'm a URM and former SEC athlete with my eyes locked on Harvard (like everyone else I suppose). Haven't finalized a list for reach/target/safeties just yet. Right now I'm just concentrating on studying my ass off for the LSAT.
Good Luck, Everyone!

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle Applicants!
I just know that those two schools are good for splitters. I don't think I would classify them as safeties either but I guess I'm not really going to be applying to safeties. I would rather take a year or two out, work, and apply again.
It's a personal choice, and I'm sure many people wouldn't agree with it, but I'm stubborn like that

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle Applicants!
I'll join and good luck to everyone! I can't wait to get our applications in so I can go back to worrying about my PhD when I'm not working lol.
I don't have any set preferences yet. I plan to visit most of the schools and sit in on classes once I figure out who's accepted me. That should help me solidify "favorites."
4.0/174
Reaches: Yale, Harvard, Stanford
Targets: Chicago and UVA
Safeties: CU and ???? - I'm not sure yet. I still need to figure this out.
My PS will be on the work I've done with minority groups in the Middle East and desire to continue building my skills/knowledge of the way laws and institutions interact to promote or hinder our ability to recognize widely held social values.

Re: 2011-2012 Cycle Applicants!
International applicant
LSAT: 179
GPA: No LSAC GPA as I'm international but my transcript is evaluated as superior (if it were a US transcript it'd probably be around a 3.9)
Softs: Nothing too special. Some work experience for a politician, volunteer work, Dean's list, leadership positions in clubs on campus
PS: About how my experience as the grandson of a Holocaust survivor and traveling to Poland to see the impact of the Holocaust has influenced my values, life choices etc.
Reaches: Harvard, Yale
Target: Columbia, NYU
The PS is driving me crazy. I never thought I'd miss LSAT study but I'd rather do that than keep on staring at my first draft. I also think I should maybe write a DS about being from Australia, however I can't honestly think about how that tangibly makes me diverse (besides the obvious fact that there aren't many Australians in US law schools). I haven't even started thinking about the Yale 250 yet, but I guess that I can wait a while for that anyway since Yale doesn't have rolling admissions.
