Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
I took the LSAT last year and got a bunch of fee waivers then but didn't apply. I'm applying this cycle and I'm not getting any. Is this normal?

I'm not sure that it's time to throw in the towel yet. I took the LSAT in February, and in April (!) received an email offering me a fee and application deadline waiver. I asked if that waiver would roll-over, and it unfortunately will not, but was told via email early yesterday evening that they "may be offering me another fee waiver for the current cycle." So here's hoping....Lavitz wrote:Hmm, probably not. Sorry. :/Typhoon24 wrote:Is there any hope for us who got the fee waiver-less email?
They toyed with our hearts.
Not sure why they wouldn't want to waive more fees this cycle.

Did you also receive an e-mail yesterday encouraging you to apply? I was referring only to those people who received that e-mail with no fee waiver mentioned. For people who haven't received that e-mail yet, I did say not to give up yet.kathj06 wrote:I'm not sure that it's time to throw in the towel yet. Was trying to do this but I don't think it can be done without having my LORs in since the pictorial guide says I need to have every section completed.deputydog wrote:Dudes that have the numbers but didn't get the email: Check and see if you have a hidden waiver

I thought this waiver was specific because my email explicitly IDs me as being a URM...

My impression is that it's just like regular decision, so you have up until deposit deadlines.t-14orbust wrote:guess I'm applying to Duke lollastsamurai wrote:Duke PT!!!!

I think you just need the actual app at 100% for it to let you proceed to checkout. Did you try to checkout without the LORs assigned?t-14orbust wrote:Was trying to do this but I don't think it can be done without having my LORs in since the pictorial guide says I need to have every section completed.deputydog wrote:Dudes that have the numbers but didn't get the email: Check and see if you have a hidden waiver

Oops sorry Lavitz; that's what I get for not reading carefully! My bad. I didn't receive an email from Cornell of any description, but if I had received a waiver-less one, I would've followed up with an email requesting one. Persistence is supposedly a virtue in the legal profession, after all! As is careful reading.Lavitz wrote:Did you also receive an e-mail yesterday encouraging you to apply? No problem. And you'll probably get one if they said that and gave you one previously.kathj06 wrote:Oops sorry Lavitz; that's what I get for not reading carefully! My bad. You may also want to check for a hidden one since Cornell seems to be slow with batches of e-mails. I've received two separate invites to a BBQ event at orientation while some classmates haven't received one yet. But I'm sure we're all invited.

Ok so I'm a bit confused as to how to identify the priority track for Duke. I got the fee waiver email as well as a guaranteed 10 day turnaround on the decision but only if applying by Early Decision. Is this the priority track?

No. I got the same thing last cycle. It's accelerated ED. It means you didn't get selected for PT.LoganFL wrote:Ok so I'm a bit confused as to how to identify the priority track for Duke. I guess I'm just confused as to why they even sent me the fee waiver? My GPA is on the high end of their median but my LSAT numbers are 7 points below their median and they weren't a school I selected through LSAC. Could it be a mistake?

Not sure. Maybe they want some reverse splitters to ED and help their GPA median.LoganFL wrote:I guess I'm just confused as to why they even sent me the fee waiver?
