You can find it on the LSDAS report.
I think there is also a calculator on LSN but I might be wrong...

I'm very surprised that there are only 3 RD people so far on LSN: it seems to be an unusually small batch today

Nothing in the mail for me... but it takes more than a day to get from NYC to Virginia... here's to hoping

Just checked my mail and nothing from Columbia. On the upside, I did get an acceptance package from Michigan. Yay!
I didn't go complete at Columbia until just before the holidays, so I probably won't hear back until February. Good luck to everyone else!

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
On index numbers, from DeLoggio: "In establishing presumptive admit and deny ranges, law schools usually aren't looking at grades and LSAT scores separately; instead, they use a numerical formula to combine the two into a single Index Number. Some schools establish their own Index formula; others ask Law Services to calculate a formula for them which correlates grades and LSATs to first year grades in last year's entering class. The formula a school uses may weigh grades and test scores equally, or it may emphasize one over the other; the vast majority of Index formulas emphasize LSAT scores. The average index formula is weighted so that .1 in your gpa equals 1 LSAT point. An "index point" is thus 1 LSAT point or one-tenth of a grade point."

This is untrue. Columbia doesn't work like other schools. I didn't go complete until January 5th.prbaglady wrote:Just checked my mail and nothing from Columbia. On the upside, I did get an acceptance package from Michigan. Yay!

granted you also had auto-admit numbers making the decision a lot easier to make

Yes, but you seem to be a bit of an auto-admit (especially with that Harvard acceptance under your belt). Unless prbaglady has similar numbers, they may very well go in rolling order.mallard wrote:This is untrue. Columbia doesn't work like other schools. Well then, I guess I'll just prepare myself for the waitlist/reject letter in feb/march!

Yes, but I'm pretty sure most Columbia decisions were more or less within the same week last year. Then again, I'm most familiar with people with my or similar numbers, so I could be completely off.
Anyway, it looks like not many people have received stuff today, so if you haven't, that shouldn't be taken as a sign of anything in particular.

This wasn't what I meant at all - sorry if I was unclear. I'm just saying your completion date and lack of news today doesn't necessarily mean anything, and there's no reason (not knowing your numbers) you wouldn't hear back sometime next week.prbaglady wrote:Well then, I guess I'll just prepare myself for the waitlist/reject letter in feb/march!

I live in Manhattan, so if i don't get anything today or tomorrow, i probably wasn't in that batch of acceptances. I also don't have auto admit numbers and Columbia was one of my reaches.
My top choices are Columbia and NYU, and I'm already in at NYU, so I'm feeling pretty happy with the outcome thus far (though it would be AMAZING to have a choice between both schools!!!!).

Re: Columbia Applicants Waiting Thread
I have a decent chance with numbers both between the 50th and 75th percentiles, and my post office is Columbia's post office, and I've been complete since early October. I'll be sure to post if I do or don't get anything in the mail when I get home.
I'm going to leave work "very early" around 6:30 today so don't expect to hear anything til after 7.

Nothing today, but my mail service is notoriously shitty so I am not worried quite yet.

Well if Objection didn't get anything, then no one should worry.
It's weird that there are still only 3 RD acceptances on LSN...

It isn't weird if they mailed them yesterday and 2 of the acceptances are overseas (emailed) while the third lives in Manhattan... It's not called snail mail for nothinghuckabees wrote:Well if Objection didn't get anything, then no one should worry.

I expect a few acceptances to be received tomorrow (particularly in the tri-state area).
I think Monday will be the big day. The wave, if you will.

Nothing here in TX. I have a 4.6 index, so pretty much autoadmit.

OK, so pretty much confirms that the rest of us won't be hearing until at least tomorrow or Monday...
