I'm literally only waiting on Columbia and I'll have all the T14's that give fee waivers...
So pull it together Columbia!

Welcome back, did you change your matric. year in CRS? I didn't get Penn either thoSeoulless wrote:I got Vanderbilt unsolicited. I didn't get Penn, even though I got one last year. Is this normal for re-applicants? I am retaking this month. Once I get a new LSAT score, will the "system reset" and the fee waivers will start substantially coming in?

Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
This is probably a dumb question, but does the receipt of an unsolicited waiver express any genuine interest on the part of the law school? I ask because I received a huge number of them and some of them were from schools that I felt were quite a reach for me (I only had a 161 on the June LSAT, only attempt and a GPA so abysmal I don't care to share it).
For example, I probably wouldn't have applied to WashU and William & Mary except they sent me waivers, so I figured they must at least want to see my application. I don't know if being a little older and having a military background just makes me an interesting prospect for admissions folks or what. Or maybe they just want that fat GI Bill money...

Not really. They do CRS searches for X LSAT + X GPA combo/individual (depending on the school, this can include below medians or median-ish only or ?) and it means just about nothing, unfortunately. They also do URM only searches/CRS waves.conorhall wrote:This is probably a dumb question, but does the receipt of an unsolicited waiver express any genuine interest on the part of the law school? That's kind of what I figured but I'm in the doldrums where I have my applications out there and there's really nothing to do but compulsively check my statuses and over analyze things. I'll gladly latch onto any uplifting sentiments at this point.rebexness wrote:Not really. Yup. Changed it to 2015. I also tried soliciting NYU, but despite the fact that I was admitted last year, they told me to just re-register for CRS.james.bungles wrote:Welcome back, did you change your matric. year in CRS? Just solicited GULC. Received an automated response that said "due to the volume of emails we receive, it will take a few days to respond to your query...."rion91 wrote:Has anyone solicited UCLA? GULC?

I saw that Duke has already sent out some.
I want to solicit but saw this form on their website - http://law.duke.edu/admis/downloads/feewaiver_form.pdf
Form or solicit via e-mail? Both?

I don't think it would have been weird regardless, we all understand your GULC love.smccgrey wrote:I'm glad it was you because now I can admit to being super jealous without it getting weird.xylocarp wrote:GULC solicited just now
also, I may or may not have solicited at like 1 AM on the 10th, so if they're going in chronological order I'd expect more later for people who sent the email at a normal time

Re: 2014-2015 Fee Waivers
Hey guys I initially had CRS off since I was only going to apply to a few schools, I didn't want my email spammed, and I though fee waivers were only for people who were financially challenged to pay. I've turned it on today but I'm hoping to apply to schools soon so I was wondering how exactly the soliciting process works (who do I email, what information do I give them, etc.)? Specifically I'm interested in trying to get a NYU and Columbia waiver (although I realize Columbia has not given any yet).
Thanks everyone

Has anyone gotten anything from UChicago? I tried soliciting but got shot down with the generic 'be registered for CRS' thing

just email the general admissions email address and include your name, LSAT, LSDAS GPA and LSAC #. maybe attach your resume too for good measure. I didn't have any luck with Columbia or NYU (got the CRS response), but you can try.sk7415 wrote:Hey guys I initially had CRS off since I was only going to apply to a few schools, I didn't want my email spammed, and I though fee waivers were only for people who were financially challenged to pay. Does UNC and/or Wake normally send these out?

Does that CRS response from NYU mean "no"? Just got that too.xylocarp wrote: just email the general admissions email address and include your name, LSAT, LSDAS GPA and LSAC #. maybe attach your resume too for good measure.
