Look below the signature line. There was a "P.S. we're waiving your fee"

Sounds like they just e-mailed the same letter they snail-mailed last year. Some people get the fee waiver P.S. and some don't.

Did the email say there was a fee waiver or was it like a general email that said they encourage you to apply after seeing credentials through CRS? I got the latter and hoping its a waiver...

See Lavitz's post above. Looks like Cornell sends a blanket email but that some have a P.S. line after Dean Geiger's signature that references a fee waiver.

Successfully solicited Duke today, although they didn't include a code to enter for a waiver and they indicated that they were already planning a more "formal" email for later in the week (perhaps priority track?). It was basically a "yeah, we were already planning on giving a waiver" email.

No Cornell blanket email though. :( I even sent them an email inquiring about merit based waivers with no response as of yet.

wth no Cornell waiver. Maybe it's more of a a pre-app YP? lol

edit: did all of you Cornell fee-waiver bros have Cornell listed as one of the schools on your 'school list' on LSAC?

I didn't have them listed. Could be YP but I didn't think Cornell was into that sort of thing from looking at the LSN data. Maybe it is a new strat though haha

I just feel like an undesirable being above median everywhere but not good enough for a cornell waiver. It's like they sat there and laughed as they took my name off the e-mail list.

That seems weird to me too with your numbers. Maybe they figure they don't have a chance to convince you to come.

I also got a blanket Cornell email with no waiver. I spent all week trying to convince my wife that Ithaca would actually be a lot of fun. I feel a little betrayed.

Hi. :)

Also, for the people who received no e-mail at all from Cornell, they may come in waves like Chicago's did last year. I remember one person in particular being frustrated because he didn't receive a fee waiver from Chicago with a 173+ 3.9+ and he eventually got one a week or so later. No inside info, just some speculation.

A few more weeks before submitting won't hurt your chances of getting in with $$, so just wait it out before you decide whether or not you want to shell out the extra 80 bucks. Of course, I'm going to encourage you to apply because you never know what can happen in your cycle.

Is there any hope for us who got the fee waiver-less email?

They toyed with our hearts.

Hmm, probably not. Sorry. :/

Not sure why they wouldn't want to waive more fees this cycle.
