Does anyone have any info about waivers from Vandy and WUSTL? Should I try to solicit one now?

When soliciting fee waivers through email, I'm assuming that the request should be sent to the email account of the admissions office of the school, correct?

I sent a request to UVA on Sunday, and haven't heard back yet.

I got mine from UVA by e-mailing the admissions e-mail listed on the website. I heard back with one in 40 minutes - I hope you hear back soon. Maybe they've just been busier this week.

I'll probably e-mail WUSTL in the next couple days and see what they say.

I am getting ready to apply here soon, and the law school I have decided that I want to go to is a higher ranked tier 2 school. My GPA is lower than their 25th percent and my LSAT is at the median, but I am also an URM. I have been nervous about my odds of being accepted there. However I just recently received a fee waiver and a scholarship application. Is that normal for schools to send out scholarship applications along with their fee waivers? And are fee waivers an indication of higher chance of acceptance? I am not terrible familiar with the purpose of fee waivers?

The consensus is that fee waivers do not indicate a higher chance of admission. Some schools appear to send out fee waivers to boost the number of applications, which gives them higher selectivity as they reject people. You're probably in a decent position - just use that nervousness to fuel an amazing app.

At this time last year, the fee waiver thread was almost three times as big and by the looks of it a significantly larger pool of schools had already sent out fee waivers. Wonder why things are different this year?

I'm not sure about that. The worthwhile schools, for the most part, don't start sending the out until September anyway.

I also just received a waiver from W&M. yay! I probably won't apply but it's a decent school.

My "fuck you" pheromones haven't reached the good people of W&M yet. Meh. Guess I better update LSAC. "I am legally and morally barred from applying to your fine institutions of higher learning, no matter how many itunes tracks you try to bribe me with."

I emailed WUSTL last week and have not heard back from them. Also emailed GW and they said they don't give merit based waivers.

Will more fee waivers be given out after the October 2011 scores come out?
