The University of Illinois has waived its application fee for everyone this cycle. I mean that literally. You can probably verify it by starting an app on LSAC.

Also, how do you go about requesting fee waiver? Do you just email the admissions office and ask? When should you do it?

Fee waiver deadlines June for some schools? Looks like the latest was Aug 31. So I can't get a fee waiver now. Oh well.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:thinkbig wrote:Also, how do you go about requesting fee waiver? Do you just email the admissions office and ask? When should you do it?

Just email the school, politely give your statistics, your LSAC #, etc. and ask them if they are willing to waive your application fee. Email goes to the admissions office.

Simple answer to a simple question. Thank you for your help and for not being a snide a-hole. Much appreciated.VoidSix wrote:Just email the school, politely give your statistics, your LSAC #, etc. and ask them if they are willing to waive your application fee. Email goes to the admissions office.

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
That probably depends on when you want to apply. If you plan on sending in your applications before your get your new LSAT score, then ask now. If not, ask after. I would assume schools would be less likely to refund / waive your fee if you've already send in the application and paid for it.natalie123 wrote:would it be better to wait til i have my september score, or just go ahead and ask now? my score is good now (169) but i hope it will be better come sept 26. gpa 4.0. thx.
That's my advice, anyway.

I didn't see this specifically explained. It was an assumption that everyone readiing the thread already knew what the dates meant.missvik218 wrote:thinkbig wrote:Simple answer to a simple question. Wow. U of Illinois really does give fee waivers to everyone. I just got one even though I'm only a "consider" there. I guess I'll apply anyway.

I e-mailed GULC asking for a fee waiver, they replied with a "lol no".

Not giving fee waivers, they just have no app fee this year. Better way to think of it.emtuoh wrote:Wow. U of Illinois really does give fee waivers to everyone. I just got one even though I'm only a "consider" there. I guess I'll apply anyway.

Everybody needs their safeties. Eh, I'll just wait till early January to apply, if any acceptances from better schools have arrived before that, then SCREW 'EM! I don't need your diploma mill!hopefulundergrad wrote:Like you'd go there anyway.Helmholtz wrote:I e-mailed GULC asking for a fee waiver, they replied with a "lol no".

Oh dear, where exactly is this PS line? I got a viewbook yesterday but had to work late and didn't read through it yet. Did it give you a code or say that the waiver is embedded in your account?iminlstrick wrote:Cornell fee waiver (loved how it was in the "PS" line at the very end) via snail mail + viewbook.
