We patriotic UT alums are in the midst of an information and fake news war with the sad, sad GULC alums. Sometimes there are casualties. t-13 fake news. UT is T-10.candidlatke wrote:"Schools that rank in the top 14 (aka "T14")

Re: 2018 USNWR Rankings
USNWR had grown increasingly frustrated with Spivey's unauthorized leaks, so they did indeed leak fake rankings this year in the hope of destroying his credibility in future years. But, hey, let's give the Texas, Washington & Lee, and Penn (State) trolls their moment in the sun.Rigo wrote:Spivey has been a trusted source for several years.Pomeranian wrote:Thoughts on the veracity of these leaked rankings? Georgetown is probably trying to bribe USNWR before official release though, so anything could happen!

Is there anyone here who is applying this cycle that thinks these new rankings will impact their ultimate decision?

At least reconsider Berkeley given the big swing momentum and the bad press from the Milo news.emkay625 wrote:Is there anyone here who is applying this cycle that thinks these new rankings will impact their ultimate decision?

Are you saying you are doing this or that you think other folks will?

You got to learn the lesson from Georgetown and assess who is the next most likely fallout.

I hear that Harvard in an effort to get its class size closer to Yale and Stanford is splitting into Harvard A and Harvard B. That will take the number back to T-14.

They're both private schools in the midst of a state that refuses to fund its public institutions. Not really a surprise IMO.guybourdin wrote:Not that it actually changes how different the schools are, but funny to see Chicago and NU improve while literally every other Illinois school falls.

What isn't real? The leaks are "real" in the sense that USNWR let information out early. But the leaked information is not accurate—i.e., it does not reflect the 2018 rankings that USNWR will actually publish.dietcoke1 wrote:this would seriously shake things uprpupkin wrote:USNWR had grown increasingly frustrated with Spivey's unauthorized leaks, so they did indeed leak fake rankings this year in the hope of destroying his credibility in future years. Will GULC's drop affect admissions at all in the upcoming cycle (2017-2018)? GULC is my top choice so I'm curious.slurp wrote:Gulc is now t20 with vandy, ut, UCLA, and USC - all schools that haven't dropped out of t20 with the exception of UCLA once in like 1995grades?? wrote:people still salty that its now the T13. 4 years in a row for me. But many more -- I think someone mentioned as many as 16.
