Still TCR to fee waivers. Just ask them. There's even a draft email in the (outdated) OP.bearnice wrote:- Michael Scottsomethingelse55 wrote:You miss 100% of the shots you don't take - Wayne Gretzky

Yeah they say they only do CRS and you have to wait for them to find you instead of requesting a waiver directlysomethingelse55 wrote:Exact same situation here. Re: 2015-2016 Fee Waivers
Just got one from Texas! Pretty excited after they turned me down a couple of weeks ago. Guess they ran the numbers again through CRS.
It came right after another fee waiver/scholarship suggestion from Arizona Summit ... that one I'm less excited about.

Re: 2015-2016 Fee Waivers
Successfully solicited from duke!
After sending a standard-format email, got a response from the dean saying that usually they distribute waivers through CRS but he could "speed things up" if he had some more info about my background/why I want to go to Duke... So I answered with a paragraph about myself (attached resume as well), and a couple paragraphs of "Why Duke." He responded two days later saying he'd set up my waiver through LSAC - submitted a few hours after that.
I'm now officially done submitting - waivers for 12 out of 15.

Nope. Still waiting for Columbia and NYU. Haven't heard anything from any of the top schools in a while, except marketing materials from WUSTL.schocolate wrote:Has anyone received a waiver from NYU lately?

Congrats! I've never heard of a dean responding with asking why you want to go there. Maybe these threads have had a negative impact on people soliciting waivers because too many people ask nowltbenn wrote:Successfully solicited from duke!

Northwestern waivers are probably coming out now because the free early application has expired.

Yeah, CLS is the only one that offers waivers I haven't been able to nail down yet.RZ5646 wrote:

I was happy to get it, now I don't feel as bad only giving LSAC $30 for the denial instead of flattering NU with the other $70. Too bad they aren't reverse splitter friendly :/RZ5646 wrote:And I can't even get onegamerish wrote:Same. It doesn't seem to be unusual. Re: 2015-2016 Fee Waivers
I am wondering if I should apply for need-based fee waivers at T14 schools. I am currently working in AmeriCorps so I know that my income would allow me to qualify for it. The only problem is that I have a decent amount of money saved (for someone just out of college). That money could easily be used to pay the fee. Are the need-based waivers only given out in cases of extreme need?

A lot of schools offer automatic waivers for americorps/tfa... check the faq section of the websites of the schools you're looking at, or call admissions.Theresa87 wrote:I am wondering if I should apply for need-based fee waivers at T14 schools. I don't have NYU either so no words of wisdom there.
I got an unsolicited fee waiver from Columbia with a 168. It is laughable because I have no chance of getting in. I wish I could give it to one of you!

Re: 2015-2016 Fee Waivers
I completed AmeriCorps and was able to get fee waivers from Boalt, Chicago and UVA through solicitation. They have information on their website about how to do so. The waivers aren't need based, they are granted because of your service. I know NYU and Georgetown offer TFA members and alums waivers, so I am going to try to see if they will stretch the rules to any AmeriCorps service. I will let you know what I find.ltbenn wrote:A lot of schools offer automatic waivers for americorps/tfa... check the faq section of the websites of the schools you're looking at, or call admissions.Theresa87 wrote:I am wondering if I should apply for need-based fee waivers at T14 schools. Re: 2015-2016 Fee Waivers
In a general sense, where does your LSAT score need to be in order to successfully solicit fee waivers? Around the 50th? 75th? 25th?
I've received one unsolicited waiver so far and my score was at their 25th, but GPA above 50th.
Is there any rhyme or reason? Does someone in the 165-170 range have any shot at soliciting waivers for T14?
