Re: Law School Advertising Megathread
Dear Regulus,
We've yet to hear from you, and even though a new admissions cycle has already begun, we believe that you are such a promising candidate that we would be willing to waive your first semester of law school in addition to considering you for scholarships if you applied by our deadline of December 1, 2013.
While our curriculum is rigorous and provides our law students one of the best legal educations in the country, we know that you would have succeeded during the first half of your 0L career. We'll even consider you as a strong applicant for our limited number of faculty advisors to help you through the challenges of landing a competitive job without having taken Civil Procedure, Contracts, and Torts or a Legal Research and Writing course.
Sincerely,
Marianne B. Culhane
Dean and Professor
Creighton University School of Law
2500 California Plaza
Omaha, NE 68178
PS: I will be visiting [location redacted] on November 27 between 7:00 and 10:00 PM and would love to speak with you over drinks at the TGI Friday's at 1st and Main!

Shame that Creighton keeps stooping to that, I've gotten the same e-mails, they actually have a strong reputation in this city and state (the overall university that is)

True, Creighton's not the worst, and they do well in Omaha, but it still costs $50-$100k more than Nebraska, and has both worse inputs and outputs. If Creighton closed, Omaha could easily recover from the loss.Presidentjlh wrote:Shame that Creighton keeps stooping to that, I've gotten the same e-mails, they actually have a strong reputation in this city and state (the overall university that is)

It's strange. When I was younger, Creighton was more highly regarded than Nebraska in law, at least as I can recall.

Hi Alexandra
I want to relay some important news to you about Savannah Law School.
As a branch campus of the ABA accredited Atlanta's John Marshall Law School, Savannah Law School graduates are considered graduates of an ABA approved law school and are entitled to sit for the bar exam in any state. This is a very exciting development and I hope that you will consider joining our exceptional community this fall.

We are accepting applications for our fall 2013 class and it is now free to apply through http://www.lsac.org by selecting the Savannah campus on the Atlanta's John Marshall Law School application.
Best regards,

Too bad I'm a dude, and my name doesn't even start with an A.

Whoo-hoo! Go New England!justonemoregame wrote:Speaking of Phoenix, they admitted 86% of last year's applicants. Second only to New England School of Law (88%).
Actually, if a Dean or prof at a low tier law school offered to take me out for appetizers, I'd totally go. I'd use that time to ask them about their career, their students, etc. Pick their brain. And to eat appetizers. TGI Fridays does have good wings.

I know a relatively smart person who just signed up to attend that shit hole next year despite having much better schools on the table. I tried to talk her out of it, but she had swallowed the TTT Dean's sales pitch whole. She thought I and LST were the ones who were misleading her.RoaringMice wrote:Whoo-hoo! Go New England!

Yes, all the online JD programs are in CA. The ABA will not accredited online JDs, and the only state that I know of where the committee of bar examiners/state bar has approved JDs from online schools is CA.BabyJT wrote: Is CA the only place that approves of online law schools? The only online law schools I've heard of (California and Concord) are only good for CA.

Oh boy! A fee waiver AND merit aid? At Penn State law? How could I pass up an opportunity at such a prestigious institution? Maybe I'll get to meet the football team!Penn State wrote:
Scholarship aid still available at Penn State Law
Dear Student,
Based on the information you provided to LSAC, we continue to think you would be an excellent candidate for merit-based scholarship aid at Penn State Law. We hope you will apply now; your fee has been waived.
We would be happy to give you a tour of campus, show you around, and introduce you to the people who make Penn State Law so special, a few of whom are profiled below. Please contact me directly at 814-865-8978 or send an email to admissions@law.psu.edu if you have any questions about us or how you can fit in here.

Applications to the Carlisle campus probably dropped like fruit flies when Penn State went public with the law school split. Not to mention the fact that Rutgers seems to be handing everyone and their mothers full rides this year in an effort to suck up the TT Pennsylvania peeps.Presidentjlh wrote:Penn State ain't even TTT, why are they stooping so low?

I think and hope that admissions is a whirlwind of shit right about now at many law schools. They better hope they can flog the hell out of these LLMs to rich foreigners.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
