Okay... let's get this thread back on the tracks. Any other prospective applicants with questions?

I have one more question.... I am sort of a reverse splitter as I've said before (158/ ~3.95), and I was wondering what shot I have at Indiana- Bloomington, and how much my chances would increase with ED? Thanks!
Also, how big of reaches are Notre Dame and WUSTL (I'm guessing huge recaches?)
Why are you not retaking?

Out at pretty much all of those. Retake. That's a great GPA. Don't waste it.
Even getting into the low 160's would be huge.

It's overvaluing your GPA. It skews things.poo wrote:Orly? Law school predictor gave my considers on all of these.... But yeah pretty much the more I think about it, the more I lean towards a retake.kalvano wrote:Out at pretty much all of those. Retake. That's a great GPA. Don't waste it.

But I really think you'd be out. LSAT is worth more than GPA.

You are well below median at most of those. I know a guy with a 162/3.9+ who got dinged at UNC and WL'd at Iowa and IUB, fwiw.poo wrote:Orly? Re: Chances for people w/ lower numbers!
I'll take the plunge. Any comments on my school choices or anything in general would be greatly appreciated.
GPA: 3.03 (Cal State School, Business Major)
LSAT: 161 (Considering retake because I bombed RC -13)
Softs: Fraternity president (currently on regional alumni advisory board), Worked throughout UG in management position, Jewish HS youth group adviser
Reach Schools:
Pepperdine
Loyola - LA
Cardozo - Does being involved in the Jewish community help with this school?
USD
Target:
UNLV
Chapman
Pacific
Safety:
Southwestern
La Verne
Are my reach schools too far out of the picture?

Re: Chances for people w/ lower numbers!
Get your hands on the Powerscore RC Bible and study your ass off for a retake. Your softs are bland and they won't make a difference, and your GPA is weak, so you need a good LSAT score.aas911 wrote:I'll take the plunge. This, plus California is a failed state and you need to get into somewhere prestigious to compete for the few remaining jobs (semi-serious).romothesavior wrote:Get your hands on the Powerscore RC Bible and study your ass off for a retake. Re: Chances for people w/ lower numbers!
Get your LSAT into the 160s and you're in. If you can get above their median I'd imagine you'd get scholly money (although I dunno how UF does on merit money). But they are cheap to begin with.poo wrote:One more question: What are my chances @ UF in state?

Above one median, below the other. According to LSN, probably in though. I'd still retake to get money or even consider EDing to UVA.poo wrote:158/ 3.95rad law wrote:#s again?poo wrote:One more question: What are my chances @ UF in state?

Re: Chances for people w/ lower numbers!
Thanks guys. I appreciate the help and advice.
I scored -4 in RC on my first diag and figured I wouldn't need to study it much. Bad mistake............
Also any word on the "ORM" receiving a boost at Cardozo? Or am I just dreaming?

Re: Chances for people w/ lower numbers!
with a 3.01/163 and applying as soon as the doors open....what are you wiley veterans thinking my chances are at...
IUB
Iowa
Wisconsin
Fordham PT
Temple
Nova
PSU
UC Davis
Florida
Florida St
Tulane
Wake Forest
GW PT
Syracuse
Trust me I know these schools are all over the map, but as of now I am torn between staying in the Philly area or finding somewhere else. Also, I know what LSP tells me for all of these schools, but I dont know how accurate that is when I look at LSN and people with my numbers, so please speak your knowledge
