You are awesome! Putting that in right now.vanwinkle wrote:Holy cow, Westlaw is letting us donate points now too! $5 for every $250 points.wiseowl wrote:$20 from my otherwise worthless Westlaw points
I just donated 1,750 points. That comes out to $35 to the Red Cross, added to what I've already donated.

This morning I texted "HAITI" to 90999. I think that counts for $10.
Please help if you can, people. This may go down as one of the worst natural disasters ever.

--LinkRemoved--LOS ANGELES — Leonardo DiCaprio has become the latest star to back the Haiti earthquake relief effort, donating one million dollars to help the shattered country, a statement said Thursday.
DiCaprio's donation was made to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. Former US presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush House have been named as special coordinators of aid to Haiti by President Barack Obama.
Every dollar counts, but it's nice to see those with deeper pockets stepping up too...!

If all goes well, I'll be doing TPS training to work with Haitian immigrants tomorrow.

I've seen a lot of the outpouring of support firsthand- the other day I was in touch with a group of doctors wanting to go down and help out. If I had a skill like that to offer, I'd like to go, too, but I did donate $20 to the red cross.

is it me, or is this the most effective instance of fund-raising using the internet in the history of post-calamity fund-raising?
I don't recall this level of "reach" for katrina.. this is kind of mindblowingly comprehensive..

Re: Haiti Quake Please Help!
I would be more willing to donate if the country were not corrupt from the bottom up. I got screwed by that telethon for 9/11, now I am very suspect of giving money to any disaster, particularly one outside of the United States.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
