Scored 3 on AP Calc AB? Check. Hated the math section of the SATs but cruised through the verbal? Check.

I just thought it was a bit ironic...
my excuse (I am from Romania - and I have been speaking/learning English only since freshman year of college and I am a junior now)
A lot of people cannot answer the "why law school" question in a concise, sincere, clear manner under the stress of the inverview. I just thought that the original post was a valid question that should not be dismissed.

if we're telling you why you want to go to law school, you might want to call and cancel your interview

As an engineer considering law school, this might be the way for me to go.AdmiralAckbar wrote:tell the truth; how you suck at math.
I don't know that I would go as far as to say that I suck at it, and it depends on relative to whom, but I do know I hate it, and thats about all that matters.

Same for me, actually. I was a science ugrad and I had to take math (and pretty much all of my science courses beyond 100-level used higher level math). I hated it.Buckeye wrote:As an engineer considering law school, this might be the way for me to go.AdmiralAckbar wrote:tell the truth; how you suck at math.

Re: Give your best answers to the "Why Law School?" question
I consider these to be good reasons, but there are other good reasons depending upon one's priorities.
-Because you want to practice the law in field X. You don't care if its for a firm or under your own shingle.
-Because you know you like the work and feel that law school is another check in the box to accomplish said work, and as far as you are concerned, there are no other better alternatives.
-Because you feel like you can contribute best to society as a lawyer in field X. You feel that society needs more from field X.
-Because lawyers get a bad wrap and you feel like you can turn that perception around, or you just know better that not all lawyers are bad.
-Because you like to argue and win, and your other bosses didn't like that.
-Because you don't care about the money or the long hours. You'd do it for free if your expenses were taken care of, even if you had to camp out at the lawfirm.
