Re: Darrow Invite
Congrats guys! I'm jealous. If you don't mind my asking, when did you submit your apps to Michigan?

If anyone wants an eye to look over their Darrow essays before they send them feel free to PM me.
FWIW, I chose Michigan over one of HYS.

Even for those accepted late, there's plenty of opportunity for merit aid in the spring. It's too early to start getting depressed.OssumPossum wrote:Pretty depressing having not been accepted (or even received my status checker for that matter). Was still able to delude myself into thinking I may not have to pay sticker for Michigan if I got in.
Edit: Wow, pity party. Congrats! Hope you both get the big'n

Anybody know someone who took a Darrow over Harvard? I kind of want some perspective is all...

Although he got into Harvard, he was waitlisted at first. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison.

Re: Darrow Invite
I got an invite too! Yay
Graduating debt-free would be amazing - it opens up so many options in what you do after graduation.
Does anyone know how many people get invited versus actually receiving the award?

I'm not sure the exact ratio of how many are invited and how many actually receive them, but I think there are roughly 14 given per year, and they range from half tuition to full tuition+stipend.

Re: Darrow Invite
Last night I had a very vivid dream in which I was simultaneously accepted to Michigan and offered a Darrow for 34k/year. Sad.
I blame having read this thread yesterday.

The only people I know of here who have Darrows are the people I knew on LSD before law school. Once they're here, people don't talk about what kind of scholarship (or LSAT score or GPA) they had. But of my LSD friends, I can think of a couple off the top of my head who chose Michigan over Harvard... one with a Darrow and one without (got Harvard off waitlist and didn't want to change his/her plans... and was also somewhat scared, I think, because he/she underestimates him/herself)

Hi Muddywaters-
How did your Dec LSAT retake go?
Sounds like you won't need to worry about the results.
What was your previous score?
I'm working on my Feb retake now. I'm 240 miles from a test site and my proctor called time on Analytical Reasoning with 12 minutes left. Apparently she was distracted by some guy she was talking to and somehow didn't realize my life's future was riding on my test results. It was pretty absurd.
Congratulations on your Michigan opportunity and I hope your able to write a masterpiece.

Hi, I did not end up retaking, so I stuck with my 168. I submitted my essay on Friday. Crossing fingers...uganik wrote:Hi Muddywaters-
