Link? I thought the correlation of both (either lsat or gpa) was pretty close. I certainly did better in law school than peers who outscored me in the lsat.Rigo wrote:LSAT is more indicative of law school success than GPA anyways so I don't get the outrage other than you're butthurt you didn't score higher.

Median correlation to 1L grades:
GPA only: 0.26
LSAT only: 0.38
LSAT+GPA: 0.48

I don't know that 1L grades = law school success. Nevertheless, the difference seems rather small.goldenbear2020 wrote:http://www.lsac.org/jd/lsat/your-score/ ... erformancezot1 wrote:Link? Not entirely. But if we're speaking solely about biglaw then sure.goldenbear2020 wrote:1L grades = job placement right?zot1 wrote:I don't know that 1L grades = law school success. Obviously not entirely. There are many factors. WE, hotness, charisma, a particular demonstrated interest, etc.zot1 wrote:Not entirely. But if we're speaking solely about biglaw then sure.1L grades = job placement right?
I can't think of anything more predictive of placement in a legal career than grades though.

I agree. But 1L grades =/= three years of grades.Rigo wrote:Obviously not entirely. There are many factors. WE, hotness, charisma, a particular demonstrated interest, etc.zot1 wrote:Not entirely. But if we're speaking solely about biglaw then sure.1L grades = job placement right?

True. The 1L forced curve is what differentiates the class though. So it's really not the grades that matter for jobs--it's the class rank.zot1 wrote:I agree.
