I had always assumed that Obama's GPA was quite high, and the reason he didn't share it is because you lose some of the power of "yeah, we have a black president!" when you recognize how much of an outlier he is.

He was EIC of HLR. He was a law professor. He's obviously very very good at school. He might have had worse grades in undergrad, but it's clear that he was successful academically after that.

However he got in, he graduated magna.

The 3.7 number for Obama's GPA makes a lot more sense given HLS, magna, LR, and other biographical info.

The people who keep harping on the transcript thing are overlooking a much simpler explanation: Obama probably took several classes with "radical" professors at Columbia (anti-Israel, anti-Western Civ, anti-white, something like that). The faculty at every elite institution was full of them--especially in the 1970s and 80s when the literary theory types were still fashionable.

3.5 GPA
165-169 LSAT
3-5 years of community service
1 - 2 years of global markets research at Business International

And either way, he graduated Magna, and head of HLR.

In Constitutional Law, which he obviously learned shite in, but hey he's POTUS and I'm not. He obviously did something right.
