You can apply to law schools where you have <20% of becoming a lawyer, while taking 200K+ in debt. Seriously, we're trying to help you here. Many of us are paying very little for top schools & seriously regret it (me included).MindControl wrote:Okay ground rules - if you don't have anything positive to contribute then pls don't post anything on my thread. And none of that 'Is OP real" BS either. Not everyone can do well on the LSATs. This thread is for me to seek a second opinion on either applying this year or wait till next year after taking the LSAT again. Asking me to go to trade school or forget being a lawyer is not helpful, I get a earful of that from my family everyday. I need suggestions/options of schools that I can apply to with my current LSAT scores.

Honestly not trying to be a dick, but there are literally 0 schools worth attending with a 141. It's even well below Cooley's 25th.

I graduated in 2008 and all I want to do is get into Law school. Over the past 6 years, I have taken the LSAT 9 times, and my highest score is 141.
I really want to get into a top 100 law school. I didn't get a real job since i wanted to focus on the LSAT. I have applied to law school every year like clockwork since 2009 but have been rejected. Should I take another year and take the LSAT again or try applying again this year??

I will worry about the Bar, in 3 years or so. Right now I want to get into a decent law school or any law school for that matter where LSAT is optional. Has any law school admitted folks based on other characteristics, and discounted the LSAT? I am not prepared to give up yet, I will keep trying, I need a 150 to be shoe in for some schools.
Question OP....what characteristics do you have that you think would allow you admission to such an institution?
Also....what kind of law would you want to practice?

I've spent six years on and off dedicated to the effort too. When I hit a brick wall, I put the LSAT down and did a bunch of other shit with my life. I am now consistently scoring in the 99th percentile with a ton of 180s. I am retaking in Sept.
I posted my story before. Got some great advice.
I'm happy to help out but your story is really suspect. 9 LSATs is just nuts. Either post here or PM me some proof and I will make it a quasi life mission to give u a hand.
Also what is your GPA? Look - your only best bet is getting a full ride at Cooley, Barry or some out tier 4 toilet. Only a complete and utter moron would pay substantially for the schools in your league.
Part of growing up is accepting your limitations. I wanted to bang 1000 playboy playmates when I was a freshman in high school. I eventually learned that it wasn't realistic. I am now happily married. If law school is your equivalent of my teenage fantasies, I can assure you that in time u could find equal satisfaction through a trade.

Maybe the LSAT is sabotaging your apps so they can keep milking you for registration fees.

If you're really serious, just apply at some place like here http://lawschool.untsystem.edu/admissions. There's no minimum LSAT requirement. The price is cheap.
Of course you'll come out and be a crappy lawyer. You won't provide good service to your clients while probably charging them some outrageous rate. You'll drive the judges crazy and you'll drive opposing counsels and co-counsels crazy.
So yeh. Go for it. If other idiots can make a living being a lawyer, why not you?

"Only tell me things that I want to hear" is what you just said. That's not how life works.MindControl wrote:Okay ground rules - if you don't have anything positive to contribute then pls don't post anything on my thread.
But for real, I'm cheering for you (if you're real, which I doubt you are). If you actually want help on here, you need to tell us how you studied so far. If you've studied nearly perfectly, then you'll know to find another profession. If you studied like most people in this world- in an ineffective way- then you MAY have a chance.

Keep a clear head so you don't have to read over anything more than two times, go at your own pace and don't even worry about how much time has elapsed, eliminate the four wrong answer choices, pick the right one, repeat this 125-130 times with a 15 minute gummy bear and juicy juice break halfway through, and then log back into LSAC.com in mid-October and claim victory.

OP post a screenshot of your LSAC profile, with your name and SSN blurred out, with all 9 of your scores. If you do this, then you will receive constructive help.
Because nobody believes you.
It's like claiming you've taken the same class in college 9 times and gotten an F every single time. Not believable. And yes, 141 = F.

You actually have parents who are giving good advice. Don't throw that away. You're not going to be a lawyer, but even if you were it's just another white collar job. You don't need law school to do that.

Even if the OP did provide proof, there still would be no other advice than to give up law school. A 141 isn't just an F. A 141 is 15th percentile... of just the LSAT takers.PeanutsNJam wrote:OP post a screenshot of your LSAC profile, with your name and SSN blurred out, with all 9 of your scores. Have you thought about going to law school overseas? If you go this route there will be a host of other obstacles but many of the schools do not require the lsat.
have you hired a tutor to help you study? It's expensive but they can help to pin point exactly what you're doing wrong.
do you have experience in family law? I worked pt for a lawyer who handled family law issues... it was ugly.
In my current role I meet many fresh grads. My advice is to get an entry level job working for a family law lawyer (volunteer if you can) so you can see what the day to day.
I know it's painful to feel like you're in limbo. But law school will always be there.
