I mean it's obvious I'm not getting in ED, but I was under the impression that it showed the admissions committee about your commitment to attend. If there's really no benefit, then, I guess it's clear what I
should do.
Applying ED at NU actually does increase your chances of ultimately being accepted, though exactly by how much, I can't say.

Source: someone who got into NU after being held from ED. Also, someone who participated in an online Q&A session with the Dean, in which he said that when picking between two roughly equal candidates from the wait list, they will choose someone who applied ED.

Haha, well, i can't speak for TLS as a whole, and also, I'm not that aware of what kind of boost hispanic urm's receive. I will say that, even as a non urm, if you can somehow get your LSAT above 168, you actually stand a chance at ED acceptance at NU based on this year's accepted candidates . If your LSAT stays where it's at, you may have a shot at waitlist acceptance, but you better be comfortable going $250,000 into nondischargeable debt. Given that is the likely best case debt scenario at any of these schools, I'd apply to NU ED and all the other schools you want regular on day 1. That way you at least have some bargaining power in the event you get into a few schools. Just my 2 cents.

DaRascal wrote:I actually like that plan, workaholic. I'll try to get a score high enough in September that I wouldn't need an ED to get into the other schools, and, if I don't, NU might provide me with the best boost when you factor in a more holistic admissions process than the other schools.

What's $250k in debt anyway? It's just money haha. I'm sure it beats working retail at 24 when you hold an undergrad degree from one of the best public universities in the country.
I dunno what it does or doesn't beat, but if you understand and are comfortable with the ramifications, so be it. Good luck to you.
