I grew up in NJ. I've always been a fan of Duke and that would be the ideal dream school. It would be an honor to attend that school. I'm just going to study by butt off and take the September LSAT.

I may just have one session with the tutor to see if it's for me, then just buy some books and study on my own.

Really glad I came to this site. A lot of informative posters. Thanks. I really appreciate all of your help.

Sorry to bump this thread, but just wanted to know this.

So basically being African-American and a GPA of 2.8, with an LSAT of at least 170, I'd be able to get into a T1 or T2 school? Not particularly worried about scholarship money, just admission. I know the odds of getting a 170 are low; just a general question.

Almost certainly.

But why is T1 or T2 a meaningful distinction to you?

I've been told by a lot of people to avoid T3 and T4 schools.
