Outside of the T20 or so, even I don't know/care about where schools rank. For example, I literally have no idea where Cardozo, NYLS or St. Johns are on the list, and those are in my target market. If I'm a 1L who posts on top-law-schools.com and that's my level of knowledge, how much will your average practicing attorney know/care?

Im not an attorney, but work in branding. From what ive seen perception is reality. A lot of folks want to believe they are above it tho

they may not consciously care about USNWR but i would argue that they, like all other entities within our legal-industrial complex, are undoubtedly impacted and affected - albeit in subconsciously conditioned ways - by the hegemonic institutionalization of USNWR
