OP, it would be nice if theres a poll that lists the schools K-JDs have gotten into. Just to give us a sense how we're doing this cycle. If not, we could just poast here.

Lol, glad to see I'm occupying the lowest spot on the totem pole. Though not for lack of trying. Original plan was to work as a paralegal for 1-2 years, then to just find any sort of employment (I couldn't even get an interview at Target), then it turned into, "Fuck it, just study for the LSAT, volunteer, and keep my fingers crossed. This is what I get for being a cocky liberal arts major.

So far it hasn't spelled total doom for my cycle. I got a JS1, an interview with Chicago, acceptances from UVA and Duke, and a waitlist from Penn. But I can't help but wonder what might have happened if I was more aggressive about finding employment when I was still in undergrad.

Still considering taking a year+ to get some WE if I don't like my scholarship offers this cycle.... But the bolded terrifies me and is exactly what I fear would happen to me...

What someone needs to really do in terms of spreadsheets is have an analysis conducted on the performance of K-JD students versus their nontraditional peers at whatever school. A whole site such as Law School Transparency could be dedicated to that if people would be willing to divulge such information. What I mean is percentage of K-JDs on law review, amount of K-JDs obtaining summer OCI placement jobs, amount of K-JDs who book a certain class, etx etx in comparison to their non-traditional peers.

However, this qualification of having people divulge their information would likely be an unfeasible task.

Checking in. I'm one of the few who marked themselves as having below average softs, largely because I have no metric by which to gauge myself. I don't know what the average really is, and I don't know what adcoms are looking for. Were I in their shoes, though, I don't think that my app would be particularly mind blowing.

I've got good-not-great numbers (enough to get me into Berkeley and Duke), and I've had my JS1 and a Chicago interview, so I like to think that I've got a chance, but again, everything about the process is so mysterious that it's hard to tell.

I have some shit softs. I got my degree about a year ago, have done some low-paying education related work since (can anybody guess?), and studied for the LSAT for over half of the past year while being at home. Internship in college, and a philosophy major (nearly did grad school for philosophy but didn't get into any PhD programs), and lacking direction in school aside from my philosophy-intensive class choices.

I have a good handful of PI internships, but absolutely nothing on campus, I mean I'm not even a member of a single club. No idea how this will look. I'm having a weird cycle.

I'm the opposite lol. Had decent on campus involvement, an sps internship and sps WE. good numbers and an interesting background.

Clubs. Aren't those meaningless anyway? At least for my sake I'd like to think there's little difference between being a member of a few and not being in any, unless one is a leader and does cool things with it/them.

hey so if i took a year off after high school, and then went to college for 4 years, and then straight to law school, am I still technically a KJD?, because not a lot take time off after high school, but I did it so that i can save some money for college.

That's more epistemology stuff I'd say. Philosophy of time is related to stuff like whether time is linear or static and if time travel is possible and all the cool paradoxes that come with it. If it is, and it's doable, all us shit softs people should take advantage.
