Schools dont care about majors. They care about LSAC GPA....

Might be able to get in through the back door...jtabustos wrote:Note:
Curious to know if admissions would possibly think less of these types of degrees?

You may want to call Liberty University Law School and ask them this question.

Majors like these are usually the result of heavy lobbying of the university administration by the crazy leftist student groups. Finally the school goes, fine you want to major in shit? Major in shit. And then those students turn around and complain about the administration when they can't find a job.

Education, journalism, the law, personnel, public policy, social services, and all the health professions require workers who have cutting-edge knowledge about diversity issues. Students who complete this minor can bring their newfound knowledge to positions in government, industry, for-profit companies, and nonprofit organizations. Large companies and municipalities are hiring staff to work expressly with LGBT populations. In fact, a growing number of municipalities and cities in Oregon (Portland, Multnomah County, Eugene, and Ashland, for example) have enacted domestic partnership legal status for same-sex couples and families, leading to a need for individuals with expertise in the fields of human resources, legal counseling, and political activism. Help expand opportunities in this important area.
actually it's just a minor, but still retarded

I have a gender studies degree and I have a half a scholly to ASU + instate. My buddy with a hispanic studies degree just nabbed a biglaw associateship. Tell your friends to get fancy GPAs and they'll be fine. While some folks on here seem to think it would be a problem in interviews, there are plenty of queer/ queer friendly firms out there, and the LGBTQ pals I have at the law school seem to be doing well in the market. Their law school GPA is gonna be much more important when it comes to getting a law job.
